Hot tub, beer, women, and thick snow.

Do you realize the life you are missing right now?

The watch is fine, but doesn't look anything like my beloved F91W-1. Perhaps you should play tighter...
The watch is an analog Citizens that is driven by the power of the sun. It has no battery, but I have to change the strap often because I wear it too tightly.

Alas, last week was beautiful in New Orleans, unseasonably warm in New England, but that has all changed.

Nut, there is this app called Tinder. Not sure if you heard of it. Open an account and post 3 photos:

1 - a running hot tub
2 - "Bring Your Own Beer, lolz"
3 - Your dogs

When they arrive, just shut the shade and peek at them with binoculars.

I'm very rough on watches so I have a rule that I won't pay more than $10 for one.

I have an analog Timex I love so much that I paid $11 for it. It says it's water resistant to 100m. I don't trust the word 'Resistant'. It's either waterproof or it isn't.

I wear my Timex once a year, on Nov 11, my only concession to being a veteran. I usually wear my Casio with its 24hr display set to GMT -- it's the only way I can keep track of different time zones since I live in Texas but work in Japan and China.

The three biggest watch snobs, in order of snobbishness, are Timex, Casio and Rolex snobs. Despite being in third place, everybody likes Rolex snobs best because they don't seem to be in on the joke. "How do you like your Rolex?" "Great! Got it out of the shop yesterday and haven't had a problem with it since!"

I'm not rough on watches, and I never feel properly dressed without one. I pay much more for cologne, at times, than I would ever pay for a watch. I've had this one for five years, and I doubt I will need another.

Doesn't using binoculars cut down on intimacy?

Don't know him anymore, but I knew a top YouTuber. It's a 24/7 job. Even the smaller people put in monumental effort to make a go of it.

It's good to advertise the few millionaires, but reality is most aren't earning much at all from YouTube and make most of their money from sponsorship deals and other avenues. To put in perspective, CPG Grey updated the title of one of his videos to show how much it earned. It turned out to about $1000 per million views.

it looked like i ran into a police barricade when i opened the list link..

yea its about 1000 for a million views. not bad though for no real expense. and big money if you get a following and can post often

No real expense?

The people who have really good videos has an expensive computer, a $1000 high def camera, $1000 video editing software, a $500 microphone, professional lighting rigs, and quite a few other expensive things.

Bare minimum to get to that level is pretty expensive. Then there is the constant need to create content, which is, bare minimum, 20 hours. Heck, even my janky guitar videos takes 15 hours to do. I couldn't imagine the time it takes to do what many of these people do.

And figure that it takes years to get to that 1M view level consistently, if ever, and it's definitely not a good pay out. Some YouTube stars (100k views per video, say) can't even get jobs at Starbucks because they get too much attention and harassment at work.

There's never a bad time to smell good!

I remember you talking about your cologne habit, seems like it would make a great Lounge thread. I confess that I stick with one or two Old Spice anti-perspirants myself.

Also I never wear a watch, can't stand jewelry/adornment of any type dangling off my person. Matter of principle, but mostly just feels wrong.

Please, kioshk! With this being the home of the great unwashed.

For the record, I added Coromandel in NYC and Ormonde Jayne Man in New Orleans to the collection. I like to buy something in cities I visit as a memento.

This. And when I did have to wear a watch I always wore it to the inside because it felt more comfortable even if looked mentally challenged.

many build up a following on u tube with just their phone camera. but even a few thousand or more in equipment is small to get any project started. it may take hours of work but is certainly a path for the average working person to hit it big or bigger than what they have, with only a little finances and expertise.
