A true artist is proud of their work

dT,
Having never met you aside, I get the feeling you come across pretty intense. It wouldn't hurt to follow up with a message explaining yourself.
Spoiler:
But we'd need pics of singer to really gauge if you should follow up.

She has videos, haha.

I made my decision. I truly thought she was bull****ting me.

Am I intense? Some people would say that I'm like a surfer dude who doesn't give a **** about anything, but all of this is about as valuable as saying you are an introvert / extrovert. When I play music, I'm super relaxed and just go with the flow. It really depends... some days you got it; some days you don't.
12-14-2017 , 02:45 PM
I don't get it. Were you auditioning her? You need a singer so why wouldn't you be more encouraging? I would have said something like "thanks for spending this hour with me, you're obviously very talented. The beginning of that one video was amazing. I thought it was just wonderful." I mean she did spend an hour with you.

I've spent 1 hour with a lot of singers, guitarists, pianists, and so on. After going through the ringer a few dozen times, you learn that it's just a lot easier to make a decision and move on. Doesn't mean that rejection or rejecting doesn't hurt, but it happens. Gotta have thick skin and understand that it's not anything personal.

The last person I met up with in Austin rejected me, but kept sending texts for a month. I just don't think that it's good form. It really just takes one bad experience (or a few, idk), to figure out that making a commitment, no matter how small, adds up to a huge situation. Joining a band or working with another musician is like diving into a marriage after one date, so if date 1 doesn't feel good, then it's better to swing to no.

I don't do unsolicited feedback and I don't patronize either. I just said that I felt the session could have went better, making a comment on both of us. Anyone who was standing in the room would have agreed. It's not the first time I've said it or heard it, and it won't be the last, I'm sure.

I'm convinced it's me that causes women to swoon. What's Old Spice?

You just wanna know if she's cute.

So, there's this interesting app called Tinder. It has a bunch of photos of girls.

If all else falls, you can go to LinkedIn and click the "also looked at" section.

Ray, I said swoon, not faint. At my age, I'm lucky to get a second glance, to tell the truth.

I'm surprised that so few people know what "pwned" means these days.

I frequently pee behind my shop - which blocks the view from the public highway so only the deer and the random bear can see my weenie. The area is open to the sky so the camera eye in spy satellites could take a photo and send it to the FBI.

When you say 'random bear' do you mean wildlife or 'wild life'?

What do the US-based word-nits, US-based English profs, US-based English teachers, and so on think of "grey."
12-16-2017 , 05:27 AM
grey gray same thing. those that need to chastise people over those kind of things as if they are wrong are people that have an insecurity and the need to establish their superiority that they themselves doubt.
12-16-2017 , 05:36 AM
You described me to a t

I chastise you for something I disagree with, I'm a jerk; you chastise me for something you disagree with, and you are valiant.
12-16-2017 , 05:41 AM
sorry buddy. maybe john cole can give you guidance and compassion for your ills.

I had a discussion with someone last night about what drives us crazy. She hated stuff like "Expresso." I told her it didn't bother me, and she was surprised that I never correct anyone's speech. It's in poor taste. However, we both agreed "I seen you last night" makes us want to kill.

Overall, English teachers tend to be more forgiving although a few are real prigs. Still best always to let these mistakes pass. One of the smartest people I know says "between you and I." I don't have any urge to correct him.

Grey is more common in the UK; gray more common in the US. But both are acceptable.
