I have to finally admit I can't hold my liquor all that well. Went out tonight, had one bourbon and water on the rocks, nursed it for a couple of hours, and still feeling the effects. Not drunk at all, but I'm still feeling a little woozy. That's after one drink.

Or maybe it was the loud music. Or maybe it's that I've barely eaten all day. Anyway I'm going to play poker tomorrow and drink water and coffee all day.

When I was a kid I remember asking my dad why he voted, since one vote doesn't make a difference. In addition to explaining that it's one's civic duty, he said "If you don't vote, you don't get to complain."

I've had some sort of facial hair since I was sixteen, but it's only been a goatee for a number of years now. So filling it in now.

When covid hit I decided to grow a "lockdown" beard. I think I lasted 6 or 7 weeks and hated it. That said I hate shaving too and only do it once or twice a week.

I may keep mine. We shall see.

I always shave in the shower, and yesterday I put on the shaving cream, grabbed the razor, and remembered I'm not supposed to shave.

Some of my colleagues, you know, those east coast cultural elites who teach at a community college, are still bemoaning the election results. A few friends are celebrating the death of "wokeism." A few think the nation is comprised of 70 million idiots. I'm merely aghast (if it's possible to be merely aghast) that anyone could vote for this guy.

But I'm not about to lose friends because they voted for Trump. Although we might not understand the reason for their votes, everybody has their own reasons--as they do with most things.

Me? I'm just sad that a guy with the morals of an alley cat represents our country.

There. I've said enough.
