I posted the pic, then JC deleted my post and put the pic on your OP.

I didn't want the record expunged from history. Like history, can you prove it? Will the victor rewrite it in a way he sees fit?

Re: The Idiots of March LC Thread

I forgot to mention to you guys - you know they found the remains of Richard III in a Leicester car park? That's about 5 miles from where I live.

Also, here's a gratuitous picture of Nigella Lawson from a recent night out. 53 years old.

I think we should just declare Nigella Ms Lounge 2013 right now.

Wow, that's the first pic of Nigella I don't like. Awful dress.

But yes, I heard that about Richard III. Odd, since from all accounts, he didn't own a car.

Dom, I think you're getting old. I only noticed the dress when you mentioned it.

I do not approve of this Shakespearean malapropism. Making mistakes about Shakespeare is criminal.

Anyway, the IDES of March isn't from Richard III, but from the Merchant of Vienna, as any fule kno.

Hmmm.

Quote:
A malapropism (also called a Dogberryism) is the production of an incorrect word in place of a word with a similar sound, resulting in a nonsensical, often humorous utterance. An example is Yogi Berra's statement: "Texas has a lot of electrical votes," rather than "electoral votes".

The word "malapropism" comes from the French "mal ą propos" meaning "inappropriate", and was personified by Richard Brinsley Sheridan in his comedy The Rivals (1775) as "Mrs. Malaprop", a character who habitually misused her words, while Dogberryism comes from "Officer Dogberry," the name of a character in William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing who also makes this kind of error.

Re: The Idiots of March LC Thread

I have always asked myself "to be or not to be" an admitted idiot. I have been a poster on 2+2 "since 1999", no reference to Prince there. I believe that in all that time other than seeking poker knowledge I have been searching for a home. I just may have found it in The Lounge and specifically in this thread. I hope that I am welcome, although it would be the first time since moderation of forums was put into effect. I will try to live up to the standards that I find here.

Thanks for the thread,

Vince Lepore, old fogy or is that old and foggy
