My thoughts exactly. He was also a true class-act. I'm not going to search the webs for this, but from what I read in the old music mags:
During tours, Rhodes would stop in every city to take a guitar lesson (mind that his mother was a classical guitar teacher). At times, the teacher wasn't good enough to show him anything, so Rhodes would end up giving the teacher a lesson and pay anyways.
Rhodes could lay down incredible music that was both complex for the genre, yet still accessible, music, and heartfelt.
