I got seven razors today, and one hell of a cut. The clam cut clean through my fingernail. Razor clams indeed.

I'm a wimp. I wear those thinnish rubber on the palms and elastic on the backside gloves. It is a little harder feeling them when you are trying to grab the syphon and pull them out. But you don't get cut.

So I stuck with a little higher on the beach and looked for small show holes that others missed or pop up from the activity. Soon I had a dozen four to five inch clams. That made for a great dinner.
Hey Zee, I live in Oregon. Not that you give a ****.

Just found out that I drew an Either Sex Elk Permit in my neck of the woods for the upcoming Rifle season. This is a pretty big deal to me and I am MORE than a little excited! Less than a 7% chance for drawing one of these and I have been trying since I first got to Montana.

Awesome. Thanks to you and a couple of friends of mine I have added a trip to the west coast to my must do list. I don't know when but I will get there to partake in some of this fun at some point.

Slow morning clamming, five razors. Tomorrow will be a lower tide and low tide will be after sunrise, giving much more time to get more clams.

Four days fishing the opener for rockfish, got a personal best 23" cabazon and a 29.5" blue meat lingcod among many other fish. Put in about 26 hours and 30+ miles on the kayak getting on the fish. Trolled my arms off for salmon without a scratched herring to speak of.

Yesterday's 3 species bests, lingcod, cabezon and a black rockfish.

Best crappie fishing of my life today. Tossed back anything under 10". By the end we were throwing back everything under 12".

That's 31. We caught well over 100 in 4 hours.
