To me, "Merry Offensive-Word" isn't offensive at all, and I really don't get people's hang-up on it. If you say "Happy Holidays" to a Christian, they get upset and say "Merry
Christmas" and if you say "Merry Christmas" to a self-style Mother Met Pagan, she will get offended and tell you that it's "Solstice, the holy holiday stolen by The Pope" and if... sigh. Do you remember when this strange holiday called Kwanza started making it's rounds?
I think we just have to come up with a better name for the day. Something that will make everyone happy. Here are a few of my ideas:
Accumulate Trash for Spring Cleaning Day.
Forget What Happened at Wal-Mart on Black Friday Day
I'm Too Poor to Take Today off; Here Are Your Fries Day
Hooray, the Suicides Weren't as Aplenty as Last Year Day... (according to this chart I made up)
I think we should create a Non-Offensive Holiday Name committee to work on this for the next year.
