lucky for the big box stores sales and amazon or that antiquated holiday would be gone and have it in the summertime where it would do some good.

It snowed all day yesterday for the first time this winter so we will have a white Christmas here in Chicago.

same here but still in the cold wave of minus temps. but its certainly a white one.

i got my snowplow truck stuck in the snow on a hillside and will spend part of the day digging it out. ho ho.

I think one person said "Happy Holidays" to me. Actually, he mumbled it and gave me the eye that says "well, I think you won't get offended, right?"

Yes, we all know that Santa prefers the USA, hates the poor because they are lazy and ask for handouts, and is likely racist, but it doesn't mean that every non-Christian cares one iota how you say it. It was the Christians who started this mess, right?

I don't know, Dave, who started this mess or if it's really a mess. Things change.

if you think about it you should say happy holidays as the other is offensive to many. and offensive to those non believers of your particular faith as well. unless they grew up in the 50's and had it shoved down their throats all their lives and are brain washed.

It's vegas... what winter?

To me, "Merry Offensive-Word" isn't offensive at all, and I really don't get people's hang-up on it. If you say "Happy Holidays" to a Christian, they get upset and say "Merry Christmas" and if you say "Merry Christmas" to a self-style Mother Met Pagan, she will get offended and tell you that it's "Solstice, the holy holiday stolen by The Pope" and if... sigh. Do you remember when this strange holiday called Kwanza started making it's rounds?

I think we just have to come up with a better name for the day. Something that will make everyone happy. Here are a few of my ideas:

Accumulate Trash for Spring Cleaning Day.

Forget What Happened at Wal-Mart on Black Friday Day

I'm Too Poor to Take Today off; Here Are Your Fries Day

Hooray, the Suicides Weren't as Aplenty as Last Year Day... (according to this chart I made up)

I think we should create a Non-Offensive Holiday Name committee to work on this for the next year.
