So, not really a love interest, but said musician from last week. She has a gig and, of course, I go see her play. She gives a nice hug hello and buys the first round of beers and we are chatting along. We are both pretty tired, so not like some high-energy stuff.

I get the second round and we are chatting a bit more. Some other dude starts taking a real liking to her, and sort of super aggro about it, though she seems to be responding to generally positively. We go outside and... she and I are totally hammered at this point and dude is along and totally sober. He's shooting me daggers all night, really putting 1000% effort into getting to know her. He's touching her arm, chatting, and I can't read the girl at all. She's chatting like he's her best friend ever but has her arms crossed the whole time as well.

At some point, I'm too gone to stick around. Some other people we know show up and I'm only thinking about heading to bed at this point. I haven't been this wasted in a year or so. I let her know I'm thinking of heading out, she gives me a hug, then another hug, and I ask if she wants me to stick around.

It was kind of a strange moment there... sort of felt like she was telling me to kick rocks or something.

Hear from her today and she says it was a great night, so coolio.

Spring has sprung!!!!!!!!!!! Time for a new thread.

Ehhhh? It's still cold as a witches youknowwhat here in the Midwest and I am sure John Cole is hunkering down for another nor'easter or bomb cyclone or whatever it is that happens in New England.

Even though the weather doesn't say so it is technically spring. Next week I head to the desert for a few days of sunshine and poker and I can't wait

Did you visit LA lately? The weather has been crap lately.

No. Haven't been to LA since last March, and it was cold then. But I will be returning this summer to LA and San Francisco. Last time I was in SF, I brought three days of 100 degree days with me. My cousin told me air conditioning isn't needed in the Bay area. It was that weekend.

Sunny and warm where I am now, but rain forecast for the rest of the week.

I'll bang out a trip report. Ray missed out on a great time, aside from just being with two of the smartest people on the planet.

Most of my friends would substitute "smart ass" for "smartest," but sometimes I keep that concealed.

zeno you had a great day today. no clouds at all. 50 plus degrees. grey whales at depoe bay all day today for all to see.

john the forecast is for 4 inches so get to work on your chores. and so what did you two say about me when you got together if my name came up.

Always get more than the forecast amount where I live. I will measure.

SF was actually rather decent when I visited. Definitely didn't need a/c though. It was in the 70s.

South Bay, around San Jose, gets hot as hell though.
