As mentioned previously, it is up to you to define what a "movie" is. It can be a regular film, it can be a commercial, it can be a doc, it can be an original Youtube video. But NOT TV series. At all. Disregard my original post about limited series - they are not eligible. Maybe we'll do a TV one afterwards.

Since Netflix and Amazon and other streaming services are airing original content first these days, they ARE eligible. If you have any questions, just PM me and I'll make a ruling.

haha oh man so excited to rustle a bunch of feathers with my first pick.
I'll have write up coming very soon.

so wasn't expecting to get the #1 pick and gotta say i wish i hadn't.
the responsibility is enormous and im torn between should i select what i think the masses would label the best movie or just go with a personal favorite?

and it always hurts to reach and take a film you could have gotten in later rounds.

in the end i decided to just go with the objective best movie ever made and leave my personal preferences for later rounds cuz come on its the 1st overall pick i have to take this draft seriously and give the proper credit where its due.

so im going to risk letting a personal fav of mine get sniped by someone else and with the overall 1st selection i will take what has to be considered by all true movie lovers as the greatest film ever made.

it has everything, amazing writing, superb visuals, a fantastic plot with no plot holes or unnecessary exposition, and of course outstanding direction, cinematography and acting.

oh ya and an awesome soundtrack.

its rewatchability factor is thru the roof and every-time i watch it i pick up something new that makes me love it even more.

its just a flawless film from beginning to end.



and you know what if you have a problem with this pick and don't think its worthy of the #1 overall selection? well then i just have one thing to say to you:

How many rounds? I guess that doesn't really matter though because Dom always extends it I just compiled a long list of 200+ but I am guessing I don't get sniped (much) because most the highly regarded movies of this timeframe just weren't my cup of tea. I will be going with the movies than entertained me or felt important to me. In the older movie drafts I always had a bunch of "must haves" and here my must have list is extremely short.

Oh, right. I teach that stuff.

i am going to get a bit unconventional and take what i consider to be not only the greatest piece of television ever made but if considered as a movie one of the greatest films ever made.

its not only an incredibly faithful adaptation of real events but an absolutely incredibly entertaining and compelling film.

i could write a whole essay on what made the men and events depicted in this so remarkable but i couldn't even do it justice.

quite simply they are the greatest generation and these men were some of the most elite and personally helped saved the world as we know it.

their contributions to freedom and humanity cannot possibly be exaggerated and this piece of film/television did an absolutely incredible job of not only bringing it to a mass audience but making it a must watch.

i have seen it more times than i can possibly count and every time i realize its been long enough that its time for a rewatch i get giddy as a kid on christmas morning.

im sure you all have guessed what it is and i will be shocked if anyone takes issue with it going #1.

it transcends simple TV/film, it is history at its finest.
