Yeah probably. Guard would probably be better for him. Imagine him run blocking at guard.

Hell, just give him the ball in goal line situations.

But it's so sweet and good. That's a provocative theory, that sugar is behind it all.

I thought it was consuming more calories than you expend.

Nutrition arguments on the internet are about as contentious as ones about religion or politics or climate change, from what I've seen.

That sounds like something a fat liberal Protestant who uses hairspray might say.

OK I can't get into all of this now but I'm gonna shout one thing very loudly:

POPULATION-WIDE STATISTICS ARE COMPLETELY MEANINGLESS AND ARE HORRIBLY SKEWED FOR ALL SORTS OF REASONS.

The only relevant question is whether YOU, PERSONALLY, would be healthier if you lost 10 pounds by following a responsible program of calorie restriction combined with exercise.

The evidence is completely and unequivocably YES for anyone but people who are already EXTREMELY lean... which is a vanishingly small percentage of people in the First World.

Yes, that includes "normal weight" people, so those who AREN'T overweight shouldn't feel smug. I'm looking at YOU, "normal weight" person... YOU would almost certainly benefit in all kinds of ways by losing 10 pounds in a responsible manner.

As for people who ARE overweight or obese, LOLOLOLOL at the idea that somehow they'd be healthier if they didn't lose weight by following a responsible program.

Well, for most people it ain't just 10 pounds.

This seems a good point to mention I've lost another 10 pounds.

Started at: 290 in March 2014
Now At: 230
Target: 210 by end of 2015.

I may go for a round 200 next year, depends on how I feel at 210.

Seems to me US society is starting to gradually accept fatter and fatter, as normal.

There are many ad campaigns now focusing on "real women" which are supposed to be an antidote to the stick figure ideal of beauty in advertising. But even this gets a backlash, since people complain the "real" models are still too thin and present an unattainable ideal (which they clearly don't).

In this way the bar gets moved even further to overweight = healthy. If anything there is more shaming of naturally thin women these days, being called anorexic, told to eat a cheeseburger, etc.

Obviously true rvots. When Seinfeld was on the air George Costanza was the fat friend. He seems pretty average today.

Hot take: your average model isn't too thin and your average person complaining about them knows absolutely nothing about modeling/fashion.
The look of what's "in" for models changes by the season/country at will.

Not sure if this a troll, so I will bite.

Calories in - calories out is defensible, and technically true but does not tell the story. Not all "calories in" are created equally. Some can be metabolized into sugar and turned into energy over a period of hours. Straight sugar is immediately converted into fat for storage by insulin.

And?

If you are saying that people could make better choices in what they eat to make it easier on themselves, sure. Doesn't change the formula.

Fat people do disgust me to some extent. It is the perceived "sickness" of a fat person which makes me feel the disgust I guess. The fact that somebody can let themselves go as far as to gain a sickly amount of weight is making me feel less of that person.

But it does depend on the person though. I have two friends who are both obese, both of whom I really like. The first guy is obviously really struggling with it and comes from a heavy family with psych problems causing/due to obesity etc. He doesn't disgust me as I know how hard he's been struggling and is struggling today with loosing weight and how hard he's trying to get healthier. The other one is a 20ish schoolmate of mine who's literally bursting at the seams. She shows no interest in loosing weight, and is an only child from a rich family. I want to scream at her face and steal her food, because it's obvious she's going to have real problems 10 years down the line.

I feel disgusted by the parents of obese people even more I think. How can you let your kids do this to themselves? This obv. doesn't apply to every obese person out there, but for a huge percent, the problem starts in childhood/adolescence, and this is were parents can make an impact. If you're not able to realize that your kid has a problem, or you're teaching your kid unhealthy food values, then that's a pretty selfish and horrible thing imo. The same applies if the kid doesn't end up fat, i.e. my girlfriends brother is 25 and skinny, and only eats a handful of things (white bread, chicken, pizza etc.). If you are a grown up and are that picky of an eater, you're as ****ed up as an obese person.

25 isn't really a grown up. He'll probably grow out of his picky eating yet.

A certain degree of picky eating could easily be hardwired into some of us imo.

Listening to fat people discuss amongst themselves diet, exercise, BMI, etc. is basically the equivalent of listening to creationists discuss evolution, natural selection, biology, etc.

It's equal parts hilarious and as it is horrifying.
