It's Friday. I may have a couple drinks tonight. Maybe three with I'm feeling feisty.

You ever get the feeling you are out of step with the rest of the world? Today was one of those days.

But I did take care of a friend's dog over the weekend, so the world seemed a little more normal for a time. I like dogs.

I've often said that I'm a sine wave in a cosine world.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the Red Sox are doomed.

It's the Puritan strain. Red Sox fans always feel we're doomed.

Some of my greatest friends had either two wheels or four legs.

are we including human animals in this discussion?
are you talking about types of animals (i.e. dog, cat, horse, skunk, cobra, mosquito, tapeworm, tsetse fly, human, etc.), or are you talking about specific animals you've met?

I like foxes and rabbits.

i totally agree.
so many animals get the benefit of the doubt to start, but many others (like tapeworms and mosquitoes) have an uphill climb

i'm honestly curious why you specifically mention 'Gus' and what that name means to you in this context?
i have a group of friends who do a certain athletic thing together, and the name 'Gus' has come to be associated with a mythical overseeing entity who sometimes finds a way to make randomness fall in your favor.

I don't know much about animals, but I do know that, if you see a tiger in the wild, it has been watching you for several hours.

This may be a minor detail... if you do see the said tiger, it will be the last thing you see.

I wouldn't mind having an animal rescue farm in my old age...I think I'm going to have one whether I want it or not, if you ask my GF.

you can start now they have a program where you can raise desert tortoises in your yard and as babies grow they release them in the wild.
can plant native bushes that things like butterflies come to.

all my places are truly wildlife paradises.

I did something like this using native plants liked by butterflies. My yards ended up overrun by them and as an extra bonus, it was overrun with hummingbirds too.

It was a bit of work at first, but the native plants tend to take care of themselves, so it was less work in the long run and practically no water.
