Rocky 4 is perfect pure cinema as is. Stripped down spectacle. There's no way it is a movie that can be improved with more running time.

Rocky, Rocky 2, Rocky Balboa, yes that might be good, but not Rocky 4.

I will, of course, watch it.

To lift from the Time Out review of Rocky 4 when it came out...

Film reduced to the barest of three acts.

Never mind that all other characters are reduced to shadows, that the dialogue is witless, that the political message is a heart-warming call for detente.

This, as Fuller said, is film as battleground, love, hate, violence, action, death - in a word: emotion.

Gonna do some day drinking today since my baseball game is starting soon. May as well enjoy it with a couple of cocktails right? They gotta win today!

Finally turned on the furnace yesterday evening. October 11 must be a record late for first time heating.

Weather here is cooler but consistently been rather nice; less wind and more beautiful than ever when sunny. Fall colors starting also. Best time of the year around here.

Received my property tax statement. The value of my land (not my home, just the land) Doubled. Since property taxes are limited to a 3% rise per year this didn't increase the tax much. But to have the property double in access value in one year must be some record. I'm flabbergasted.

I wonder if Ray's Oregon property skyrocket upward also?

PS I only have 2.5 acres of land.

yes my oregon and other properties in states have gone way up as well.
its good to own property, crazy to rent.
i left oregon last week just before the predicted snowstorm that didnt hit along my route.
both states have wonderful fall weather and colors.
remember property values for taxation are very approximate to real value which is usually much more.
now that you are richer maybe you will spend some of it.
