lol. mean!
it's entertaining that you believe (you probably don't and just like to try to provoke me?) you have me figured out from a few posts. i guess i could write a huge explanation (don't worry, i won't) about my schizophrenic relation to luxury brands and the reasons behind it and you would still say i'm bragging about clothes in the interwebs and getting a boner in public from feeling superior.

Lets try and get the thread back on track.

Looking for some tie ideas...

Got a wedding in a few weeks and will be wearing a 3p suit roughly this style/colour

Had a new white mtm shirt so will be wearing that and black oxfords. My suit also has an outer pocket so a white pocket square might be an option.

Need new ideas for a tie to go with this, usually I'd just wear a skinny black one but its a bit meh. May also be willing to change shoes but would want to keep the white shirt since its the only mtm one I have atm.

I think a grey glenplaid would be too matchy. I don't have any suggestions otherwise.

Seems pretty intense for a summer wedding - pretty formal and frankly really hot. I'd hold off on the vest and maybe even scrap the tie idea all together.

Full disclosure my experience with weddings- especially summer ones- is in California so this could depend by region.

I would not wear any 3 piece suit to a summer wedding

Orange tie. Hermes perhaps?

Its in Scotland, too hot will not be an issue.

I think the suit looks a lot better with the waist coat so will more than likely keep it.

If I opened up the convo to what shoes and tie would that make it a bit easier, think a bright coloured tie would work better with shoes like these

Not sure how something like that would look with Black oxfords.

What about knit ties? Something different I guess.

I think a navy knit tie would be sharp, but it would work a bit better with a light blue shirt.

Maybe red/blue stripe tie?

I'm just going to re-iterate that orange tie is the right answer.

Trying to find a cheap pair of linen pants for summer. I am 6'5" so finding stuff that fits is a bit tough and most of my slacks are custom tailored so don't really have a go to spot. Tried Banana Republic, but the pants are way to baggy and not nearly slim enough in the legs.

In NYC and would appreciate any suggestions.

For cheap, slim clothes, H&M are pretty decent.

Isn't there a good place in NY called Century 21? It's like a discount store but with legit stuff. Filene's Basement if there's one in NY is dope too

century 21 is next to the world trade center and always packed with tourists.

they are opening a new location in lincoln center/upper west side where a barnes and nobles used to be. will probably be just as crowded.

C21 can have big discounts on high fashion. Filene's is sketchier on quality I think. Holt's in Canada has good stuff, so I hear. And apparently TJ Maxx in Europe is awesome.
