I actually like Brooks Brothers chinos, if you want a bit dressier chino. They're $88 regular price. Pretty reasonable for a very good quality, imo.

I looked at the BB Milano chinos earlier because I saw a lot of people seem to like them but the waist doesn't go below 30 on their site. Bonobos and Dockers are sites where I can get a 28 or 29 waist with a 30L.

A couple of recent purchases for me, both dark grey.

I really like this belt ...

to go with these jeans ...

I think it looks like the stitching would go together nicely and I like how the brass buckle fits with the stitching. However, would a brass buckle clash horribly with my stainless steel watch band?

Don't worry so much about matching the metals of your accessories - not everyone has a gold watch ldo. It's not exactly brown belt/brown shoes, black belt/black shoes territory.

Do others agree with not worrying about matching your metals? I agree most people don't have watches to match a bronze belt. But I could get a nickle-plated belt buckle instead if it's still considered a no-no. Another reason for it not mattering is that I never tuck my shirt in when wearing jeans. I may also wear the belt and watch with chinos, in which case I still usually don't tuck the shirt in when out around town or on a date. I only tuck it in when doing something work-related at the university, and I work mostly from home so that's only every couple weeks (and half the time I wear a suit, not chinos).

Do you mean for bonobos specifically? They'll send you out an email each week with their offer for that week, assuming you didn't tell them not to. I've seen their email offers get up to 30% off.

Personally, I wouldn't wear a brass/gold-colored belt buckle with a stainless/silver-colored watch band. Attention to detail and stuff.

OK, I like the brass with the stitching but I don't plan on getting any gold-colored watches so I guess I'll be safe and get the nickel-plated buckle.

Do you guys think I should get the belt above in 1 1/4 or 1 1/2? For wear in jeans and chinos. I'm a shortish and skinny guy, if that matters. I think 1 3/8 would be perfect, but that's not an option.

I'd never wear a gold belt buckle with a silver watch. I'm pretty particular about matching shoes, belt and watch though. A lot of people don't like when they match so I think it's personal preference.

Sounds like 1 1/4 is your best bet.

I'm selling a 48" Barbour gamefair in green. It's well broken in, couple of worn spots but overall in great shape. Sleeves are just too short for me and really I think I need a 50" or 52" to wear over a sport coat. PM if interested.

Also I have a 48L brooks bros navy suit, 33" inseam (no cuffs), 3 roll 2 jacket. Fantastic condition, looks new.

And if you're looking for a cheap blazer, 48XL JAB navy blazer, 2 buttons, worn once, super minty.

Just want to make sure before I order anything, but if I wear 9D should I be buying Medium shoetrees?

Is this ridiculous overkill for an overnight bag? I think it looks pretty damn sweet.

So to go with the dark brown leather belt with wheat stitching and a nickel-plated buckle that I ordered, I'm looking for brown suede loafers that also have wheat stitching. I'm eyeing these two from Allen Edmonds. I really wish I could try them on first but it doesn't look like that would be possible. This would be for wear with jeans and chinos/khakis. They are both priced the same at about $150. Which one do you like better?

Fiesole
Details: Straight from AE on clearance, the metal link will match my belt buckle and watch, rubber sole

McGraw
Details: On eBay (Not on AE.com in suede, but in leather it's $335), leather sole, seems to me like it can be casual/dressy while the other one would be solely casual

Don't like the first one, second one is decent but nothing special (that should be the AE slogan.)

Trying to match items by the stitching is the nuttiest thing I've heard in awhile. Nobody is going to notice that.

Here's a similar one from Alden, but it's about 3x the price ...

I'm trying to step up to decent but nothing special lol. AE would be the highest quality of shoe I've ever owned.

Nothing wrong with AE. I had some RL horatio loafers that were nice. You can find them on sale for 120-150ish sometimes. There was a discussion earlier in this thread talking about loafers with some other good suggestions.

I have to say, I've never owned a shoe with a leather sole and they scare me. Whenever I've tried a leather-soled shoe on at a store, they always feel slippery and loud. Plus I live downtown and walk a lot, so I figure they'll get torn up quickly. For those experienced in leather soles, am I mistaken in these assumptions?

no, you're not. if you're wearing them with jeans or chinos i would get a weatherproof sole. AE makes a good one but i don't know if it typically comes with their loafers or more casual shoes.
