the lighter ones will just "pop" more than darker ones if you are wearing darker shaded pants. so they are less traditionally dressy than the darker ones, but you may prefer them when you don't need to be formal. and if you wear a lot of khaki shaded pants the darker ones may be better b/c there is more contrast - I personally don't like light colored pants with similar shaded shoes
You can wear them with any kind of pants. I think they look pretty sharp. I'm just not a fan of burnished toes. I don't think I'd wear them with a suit. They are too casual, although you could get away with it if you had too.
I just think it will be harder to develop a cohesive wardrobe when your second pair of dress shoes is chestnut type colour rather than a dark or at least mid brown.
I am not a very good photographer but these are really nice.
I bought shoe cream but I think I should've bought shoe polish. Oh well.
Beautiful shoes. Im an AE die hard. I prefer shoe cream to wax polish any day esp on AE. Polish will shine the shoes, cream soaks in and conditions the leather giving a great sheen over time. Provided the color will change slightly to the lighter spectrum. Either way theyll last a lifetime and when theyre beat send em back for the AE refurb!
Anyone know what cut of Wranglers is closest to 501s or have any comment on fits? The Wrangler website sucks at describing fit. I'm looking at the 47 MWZ and 36 MWZ. I want to pick up a couple pairs of cheap dry jeans as all my 501 STFs are ready to bust through the crotch.
Buy something better than that. I used to rock 501s then moved on to some better stuff and never looked back. But then again I'm 5'10" and weigh 145lbs so I'll never fill a 501 cut.
I've had APCs and KMWs so I'm familiar with nicer dry/selvedge denim. My weight and thigh diameter bounce up and down too much to justify them anymore.
Currently I'm 5'8 165 and 501s are about as skinny as I can go, so I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I find that the crotch wears really fast in them though so I wanted to try Wranglers, unless there's something else in the <$40 dry denim arena.
What is it that makes rigid wranglers so much less desirable than levis? Obviously some of the cuts are horrible. But they do have some straight fit regular rise unwashed options. And the denim sounds more durable than levis.

I think they're just a victim of their marketing.
Maybe so. They were considered AIDS at my school growing up. Wearing Wranglers was worse than wearing an earring in the wrong ear in terms of damage to your rep. No idea of the actual quality. I just always assumed it was JCPenny stuff.
