What are J Crew factory shirts? I admit I haven't worn anything J Crew for a couple of years, so maybe I shouldn't be singing their praises so loudly. I just know stylistically they were far above anything else you could find at the mall.
I'm a pretty big JCrew fan but they need to get their sizing figured out
It's inconsistent across types of shirts, and also between sizes - xs/s/m for example all fit totally differently (in different ways, not just longer sleeves, wider, etc)
They also clamp their shirts/sweaters in their photos and on their mannequins which is annoying bc thats how their stuff should fit
Fat people need J. Crew too. Seriously though, I'm a small in pretty much everything J. Crew, but every now and then, they'll make something slimmish. I have a madras shirt that's M, and Jaspe shirts shrink a lot so I wear a M.
J. Crew has always been that way for me. Gap and Banana wasn't much better but lately the slim fit button front shirts have all been consistent in sizing. I work in a Gap Factory Store and b/t it and retail there is a huge quality difference so I can only imagine the difference for J. Crew as well.
IMo the best casual outfit is nice jeans, v neck t shirt, and onitsuka tiger shoes.
What is the best brand of T shirt fits, looks, feels the best.
My personal favorite is
alternative apparel
I like Ben Sherman shirts. Also, Target sells/sold a good t-shirt.
Onitsuka Tigers are fine if you're a freshman in college and you've just started cutting out the Abercrombie and Fitch from your wardrobe and delving in to more mature fits but I don't think they are anywhere near the best casual shoe.

i like tigers a lot. links/examples for infinite superior casual shoes?
i have a couple j crew factory shirts for office wear and they're pretty ok i guess. wouldn't give them a ringing endorsement though. i think their patterns and cut are generally better than ohter shirts in the $25 price range but they get too wrinkly and the collars collapse on you really fast.
i like winter because i can basically wear any button-collar shirt under a sharp sweater and don't have to worry about fit at all. i have four or five shirts like this that i basically never wear in warm weather because they are cheap and the fit is boxy, but the patterns are nice.
speaking of shirts, what is the consensus site for inexpensive tailored dress shirts these days?
Unsubscribed from Gilt's weekly emails about a year back or so after I realized that my wardrobe was complete and that there were fewer interesting sales. Went back today and it looks like a gigantic steaming pile of ****.
How's Yoox been these days? I've stopped reading SF so I feel so out of touch. It's about time to start koppin again.
Edit: roota, the uppers look like they're kinda crappy quality.
I am jk about the above ones but I think tigers are superior to all the others you linked. But I could see them being pretty sweet if I was more of a hipster.
I like tigers also because they are so light and flexible.
they also have every color combo you can think of.
Two things happen to stuff I wear: my taste changes and the stuff no longer fits what I'm wearing, or I decide to upgrade to brands with better construction, more luxe materials, etc. The Tigers went the second way and got replaced by Common Projects.
I'd always meant to buy a pair of ridiculous high-top MMM GATs as well, which are more similar to the styling of Tigers, but never got around to it. Probably for the best.
Check out Common Projects on thecorner.com or on uhh... tresbienshop (.net?).
