I've been getting buttocks soreness recently and have had back problems for years. Any recommendations on a chair less than $200-300?

Ikea Markus is the best bet under $200, unless you can find a used Leap.

got an embody in the mail last week

it has white frame, polished aluminum base, armrests, and mango balance fabric. it is pretty orange and i like how crazy it looks. was 1400 shipped which is standard savings anyone should get over the 1690 standard price for this model if they look around online.

ive never had a nice chair but have sat in a bunch of different friend's nice chairs and my review was always that i liked them and they felt like comfortable fancy chairs.

my review of the embody is that it is pretty great. nothing mindblowing because it is just a chair, but it feels really comfortable, and having adjusted it proper for my body it feels nice to sit in for any amount of time unlike cheap chairs i have sat in in the past that would annoy me after 45 mins much less hours.

(30x as orange as this)

also, ive had one of these cheap heated foot massagers going like half the time im sitting

Got my Herman Miller Highly Adjustable Aeron (from FTP Black Card store) about a week ago. I had high expectations for it and it has greatly exceeded them. There was minimal assembly (took me about 5 minutes) and has been overall amazing. So comfortable, and my back feels absolutely incredible. I feel like I'm already sleeping better because of this chair.

I cannot say enough how amazing a very high quality chair is. I use to have a $200 leather chair I got from Ikea. The quality of an Aeron really is unbelievable compared to anything else I've ever sat in.

What's special about the Envelop Desk?

The work area can be moved foward and backward depending on whether you are sitting up straight or leaning back; check out the website.

I posted in this thread last year that I bought the Embody from someone on Craigslist for under $700 brand new. I searched craigslist and found a listing for the envelop desk for $400!!! I called and guess what..... it's the same person.

Apparantly the guy does research and development for Herman Miller and has a garage full of stuff that he doesn't have room for when they ship more stuff to him. The desk that I just picked up is selling for $1,400 before tax (it's actually the exact one in the picture) and I just got it for $400 He asked me if I wanted another Embody, I look in the corner of his garage and he has like 10 of them. I might pick up another one though tbh.

@steel108, me too. I'm definitely in if you want to buy some of those chairs and resell.

If you are in the Los Angeles area, let me know. He said it's fine if I refer people to him. It's local pick up only.

But is it height adjustable? I absolutely love that feature of my geek desk.

Two unique positions for leaning forward position and leaning backwards is genius.

My desk I can only choose one position, which is sitting back in my chair. Though I do find myself leaning forward occasionally, especially if I'm gaming then I have to. The problem is, it doesn't feel very good.

Mid Position:

Laid Back:

You can also sit in the upright position. Regardless of which one you choose, you utilize the the features that make the Embody awesome. In each pic, the person's posture is ergonomically correct and it takes no effort. You adjust the desk (really easy) depending on how you want to sit and the desk forces you to have good posture without you even knowing; it's just comfortable

After seeing this, not having the desk would kind of be a waste of my Embody tbh. I need to pick up monitor arms for my setup before I can use the desk to play (only downside is the lack of real estate for monitors). I'm looking forward to my first session on this thing and trying changing seating positions in real time.

It is height adjustable. The only downside is that you have to have the legs up to adjust. Easiest to set it up when you first put in your office. The desk itself is very high quality (the wood is pretty awesome).

It takes 20 seconds to disassemble the desk and it's pretty light. I'm going to Vegas for the entire WSOP and will 100% bring the desk; the whole thing fit in the backseat of my car. Huge difference when compared to my last setup:

most people agree embody>>>>miller right? I got a miller a few weeks ago and haven't been super impressed, so I may sell it and pick up an embody.

It depends. Some people hate it, some people love it; just like with every other chair. If it's possible, go to a place that has it and try out all the chairs.

Couldn't wait for all the monitor arms to arrive.

I coming to realize that the requirement to take everything off the desk and turning it upside down to adjust the height might be a huge problem. The height of the desk is pretty important and has to be dialed in; I probably should have done prep work before so it's mostly my fault.

I'm still adjusting and will play a short session in a little; pretty excited.
