The Cabin In The Woods borrowed many elements from classic horror films including The Evil Dead. I enjoy the homage aspect of Cabin which I suspect is why genre fans loved it.

Watched the Evil Dead trailer. Little disturbing.

Twitter nearly blew up yesterday when Zach Snyder confirmed Man of Steel is a step toward the Justice League movie. There's also a rumor JGL will play Batman. Lots of ppl got mad.

without evil dead and countless other horror movies, cabin in the woods wouldnt even exist (or be as great as it was).

The Star Trek title has me shaking my head. What does it mean?

I like this, but yeah, there's no way not to upset people. I'd love to see JGL as Batman, but there's no way to do this without turning Batman into someone other than Bruce Wayne, or retconning the Nolan films despite using an actor featured in the final movie. Hopefully it's the latter and, with time, we could come to see using JGL as a way of honoring rather than betraying the Nolan films.

Until they make an official announcement, I'll keep this in the exciting but unlikely rumor category.

the whole Robin thing in dark knight rises was beyond terrible. And JGL as Bruce Wayne would be lolbad too. If they reboot it, i hope they'll just skip the origin. no need to tell that again, even if it's a new universe. show some news snippet about the wanye murders during the title sequence and be done with it.

Making Man of steel a part of a justice league movie makes sense tho.
As for the rest of the JL "cast", i'd love to see a well made wonder woman and an aquaman movie (hey, a comic nerd can dream). as for green lantern, they should just recast Ryan Reynolds. the gl movie sucked but he seemed like a good fit as Hal Jordan.

oh and while pretty terrible, plot and dialogue wise, the 1st two issues of the New 52 JL comic (GL meeting bats, both getting their asses kicked by supes) could be pretty epic on the big screen.

Yes, but in the comics, it has almost always been understood that Bruce Wayne would eventually return to the role, and when his return was in question, he always did anyway. It would be incredible to see the Justice League movie branch into the return of Bruce Wayne and JGL becoming his own superhero, such as Nightwing or the like. That would be epic. But that still leaves the question of if this will continue Nolan's universe, and if the return of Bruce Wayne would necessitate Bale reprising the role. I don't see that happening, but manalive if it did! Someone else could take the reigns in a few years and have an older Bale star in a live-action Dark Knight Returns.

The thing in comics is the characters don't age unless the creators want them to do so, but in real life people age so I don't see Bale returning especially since Nolan's Batman is the closest to being reality based we've seen.
