$50, not bad.
BTW, I modded this grinder. Removed the crank handle, put a 6mm nut on the shaft. Now I use my drill to run the grinder. BOOM, headshot.

how the hell do you get crema with an aeropress?.. Ive looked at vids on youtube and nobody is getting crema with any brewing method.

I think the key to it is pressing air through the grounds. Most of the "pros" I've seen in youtube vids stop pressing before any air goes through the grinds. I'm not sure why they do that, though. With an inverted press even if you bottom out you're going to have a lot less air to push through, so less crema.

I've also noticed the amount of crema is very variable, fresher beans usually give more, grind fineness has an effect too. I haven't really kept track though.

well bottoming out produces a more bitter/stronger taste so if you are using strong coffee (I use a dark ethiopian blend) it tastes like ass when bottoming- so I dont get crema.. but I have tried bottoming out and still no crema.

I may need to purchase the Sunbeam EM 4800, for reasons that will remain private. However, I'm have trouble; Google seems to only bring up Aussie Swine Sites: For example-

Then there are the Damned Kiwis

Is this some form of coffee machine monopoly/conspiracy? No Sunbeam EM 4800 for purchase from a USA store? What gives. Am I doing the search wrong? What do all you coffee addicts come up with? Just curious.

I need to purchase that particular espresso machine [Sunbeam EM 4800] as a gift. I have private reasons for doing so.

Now, can anyone find out if this piece of coffee machine frivolity can be purchased in the good old USA, or not. (I think not, but anxiously await being proven wrong.) Thanks.

Chin: Just dump the Jack3d. I used to use that / NO Explode / Pre Surge / Super Pump - and while it was cool I guess - after 3 workouts of not using it - I didn't miss it (and was certainly able to sleep better). After that, just kinda go cold turkey. It really only takes a couple days not to miss caffeine. Just get good sleep.

I've had my aeropress for about six months, using it roughly twice a day, and it's developed a massive crack that coffee drools out of when i use it.

Stop using it roughly, then.

No but seriously, try contacting them, tell them it must of had a defect, maybe they'll send you another one for free. I've had mine for, IDK, two and a half years now, and still works perfectly.

Can anyone recommend a good (European or delivers to Europe) roastery with online store.

Looking for smooth, sweetish Arabica that's suitable for espressos, americanos and occasional cappuccinos.

Can be "too" sweet as I don't mind experimenting with mixing the beans.

I had a perfect mix of two beans I got from a local roastery and supermarket, but I recently relocated and so far haven't found a place that sells gourmet beans nearby.

Blue Bottle is quite good. I do, however, prefer http://www.barefootcoffee.com/, especially if you're in the South Bay as they're in Santa Clara.

They brew using a Chemex method - they put in some ground-to-order beans in the filter, add a bit of hot water, stir, wait, stir, then add the rest of the water. It's the best coffee I've ever had; my current favorite is the Thais from Brazil.
