I learned from that unabomber show that part of the way he got caught was that he used the phrase in its original form: eat your cake and have it too. Which makes it way more obvious what it is supposed to mean. And which makes it totally fit the thread.

he got caught because his brother turned him in.

i still think i am the only one who ever figured out what his initials were. F.C. as he signed the letters. he hated technology and those that were spreading it. so f--- computers.=f.c.

Very ethnic offensive remark I think. But we don’t have real gypsies in America like in Europe so it is almost ok here. I think.

I was visiting my buddy’s family in the early 70s, and his father, owner and number one worker in a small masonry company was driving around showing off some of the deluxe walls and fireplaces he had done. He pointed out one place that hadn’t paid him...”there’s one that Hitler missed”.

I reached out to my uncle for some advice a few years ago. Basically there was something that I had to say to my girlfriend's brother, so naturally I turned to my Dad's brother in law, not of blood relation to me. He was, however, my favorite uncle. He said "blood is thicker than water." and explained that my best course of action would be to encourage my girlfriend to talk to her brother about the issue. I thought that made sense, so that's what I did. Everything worked out.

I think that's the true meaning of the phrase.

For some, yes. But don't ever say that to someone whose loved one has died.

"Save a tree!"

That makes me bristle inside. People who say this has to do about 5 seconds of Google to know that paper trees are fast-growing trees that are crop-rotated for the express purpose of knocking over and making paper products.

But no, we have entire cities that have banned paper bags (or you have to buy them for 10c). This is irritating to me because I did actually live by "reuse." I always used my bags for trash, and then I would walk my non-fat ass out the door and put the bag of trash in the dumpster. I don't know what's so hard about this, but instead, it's apparently better to buy a bunch of 50 gallon plastic kitchen bags that attract roaches to your kitchen, stink up your home, chokes small animals, and stays in the landfills for 1,000 years.

Kevin Spacey"s scenes in the movie, "All the Money in the World," needed to be reshot. Mark Wahlberg gets $1.5 million for the extra work while Michele Williams gets less than $1,000. Amber Tamblyn tweets "this is unacceptable!" Reese Witherspoon tweets "Absolutely Unacceptable!"

I bet Marky Mark thought it was perfectly acceptable.

A cliché refers to an expression that has been overused to the extent that it loses its original meaning or novelty.

Hitler invading Poland was unacceptable. Wahlberg negotiating a better deal than Williams was not.

I've heard people call the service at a restaurant "unacceptable" or any poorly received service in general.

If you don't like something, or disagree with a decision, just call it unacceptable.
