I include law in the waste of time degrees.
This is a pretty common theme these days, but what is the alternative? What is the advice to someone who follows this?
I have a very limited view on finding a traditional corporate job. It never worked for me. The normal tract is to go to college, get a degree, and then apply for jobs that 'require' that degree.
How do you get around that? I'm in a job now that didn't require my specific degree field, but yet, I have the degree. I'm 11 years out of college and have no hope that I could turn around and get a job in that field since I have zero experience doing it other than from my own personal interest and self-education. I feel like I am virtually and hopelessly unable to change career fields from doing what I do now, but don't enjoy, into something I would rather do and probably enjoy more.
