I did that a couple of times to Thailand with a Canadian company (Free and Easy) and it was the best times of my life too. I've traveled a ton as well in many different ways and this crushed it all.

Would highly recommend to anyone who can get away for that long. Total cost for 40 days all-in is about 6k. Could be done on 53-5500 being more frugal.

Would you guys be interested in reading about a guy who went to prison two times (plus 1 night in a cell in Budapest), lived in South America for a total of 5 years, rose to the top in his profession before everything came falling down (and then got back up again!)??

I promise to make it relatively short and sweet.

Christ, I had written down a lot on Notepad (can't afford Office) and the laptop just crashed due to overheating. This might take a while longer.

Finding publisher is hard and demeaning. After seven years I do not have the energy or inclination for this. Am seriously considering just sticking it up on amazon as a download so you guys can grab it.

Have you seen some of the stuff on reddit about publishing your own online pdf e-books? Lots of different formats for it, releasing your own e-book is pretty popular these days.

Basically you release the first 3 chapters (or whatever makes the most sense) for free, and you have to hustle to make sure you plug it in the right places (I know there are a lot of forums that cater to self help and people sharing those experiences). And then once you've given out enough free content, you charge say $5-$10 for the pdf, and you try and sell a few hundred of them or better.

yea, many people release kindle ebook for solid profits now, especially the blogger type guys, who just combine articles or write a guide on something and sell it for good monthly passive income. you could probably set up some website for it too, but it will be hard to popularize just on your own. but there is a lot of info on publishing on your own on these blogs, just gotta google a bit

Adsman, it sucks that you're still struggling to secure a publishing deal. I got an insight into how difficult that is a few years ago, and I feel pretty good about my decision not to pursue it now. If you ever figure out a way of releasing your story you can definitely add me to the list of people who would buy it. This thread remains right up there towards the top of any list of quality material I've ever read, on the internet or elsewhere.

Would buy/recommend it to a ton of people as something that motivated me to travel/had a big positive effect on my life.

This really isn't that terrible of an idea imo. I think word would spread.

I agree with this plan. It can still be picked up by a publisher also.

Ah that sucks, sorry you're having trouble. It's something I always thought of when I needed a gift for a teenage cousin or something.

Hey all,

Thanks for all the posts and private messages of support.

Truth is, though, I haven't tried hard enough. The world doesn't owe me a publishing deal just because i finally finished writing a book. Gotta take a leaf out of my own book and stop being a whiny sorry ass.

Hi adsman,

This will be a weird post, but I just finished watching this doco with Louis T
https://archive.org/details/LawAndDi...a-LouisTheroux

and it just reminded me of reading this thread about you in Uganda and kenya. I understand Nigeria does not = Uganda, and all cities will be different, but if you ever care to watch it (if you are interested), are you able to give me your opinion on how much danger he really is in at certain points through the doco? and/or if the feeling in the documentary in any way similar to what you experienced in Africa.

It felt to me he was pushing his luck, considering how you mentioned situations can escalate quickly, and possibly for no real apparent reason.

But more on topic - loved reading this thread. Quite possibly life changing for people just to read this.

Mitsi,

I watched the first 10 minutes and that was enough to answer your questions.

No, he was not in danger. There was a film crew, and that makes a huge difference. They're not behaving as they normally do, they're acting up and on their best behavior. And the way forward would have been smoothed out long before he walked in.

A++++++++++++++++ story

I kind of think you should go with the snappy/sensational title, because sensational describes the kind of stories you have. I personally would be hesitant to read anything titled "Pushing Rubber Downhill", but maybe I'm just weird and ofc you can't please everyone =]

Just AMAZING stuff Adam. I thought I had travelled and lived places even though I'm just 23, but wow you just inspired me on a whole other level.

Updates with the book and have you got any new projects/jobs going?

Lastly I would def. buy the book and already recommended this thread to friends.
