I think there's a fine line between being stylish and being costumey and I think Brad Pitt's hat crosses into the costumey side.

George Clooney is probably the best dressed celebrity out there and I really like the coat he's wearing. It looks well fitted and slim. I have two small issues with the whole outfit. First I think the trousers, being so slim, should have less break, and I would like to see a more elongated toe on the shoe.

The suit looks like a great fit to me. I like how he keeps it basic, sort of lets the fit and cut do the talking. I think his collar could stand to be a little more spread (more stylish imo) and I wish I could see some shirtcuff showing. Other than those small nitpicks, a fine effort.

The tan jacket photo is one that is best left to ole' George to pull off. I think it looks good on him because, once again, the fit and the cut. The rest of us might want to stay away from it unless you are very confident in how it would look.

yeah, Clooney is the go-to of men's fashion. He always looks great. I love the tan jacket with black shirt look, btw.

If I had the money, I'd just get his complete Ocean's 11-12-13 wardrobe and be done with it.

yes I agree Dom. There's something about Clooney that remind me of Cary Grant, style-wise. Maybe it's the tall dark and handsome thing, I don't know. But damn he sure looks good in a suit! I think you would look good in a tan jacket and dark shirt Dominic. Let's face it, you Virgos have it all going on!

Now here's a different look for Brad Pitt than we've seen in awhile. I have to say I kind of like this on him. This was taken only a few days ago I believe (Feb 2. 2008?). (Unless I'm off by a year but I don't think I am.)

Comments on this look?

haha, katy <3's george clooney...

don't care for pitt's hats at all, but i don't really care for most hats, agree w/ manque that they look a bit over the top and maybe too trendy or something...

don't really like his gray vest suit either, but it might be that it looks wrinkled like it came out of a bag. i don't think they look as sleek as dark suits.

i did see river runs through it last night and it was quite good...

Diane Lane will always look good.

Jenna F is actually an attractive woman with a cute body (as evidenced by Blades of Glory). That dress did not flatter her. She should wear things tapered lower, close to the navel, to highlight her "ratios".

Ohead, I love Clooney's coat too. I don't know the last time I saw a mens' fashion item that got me so excited.

Rebecca Taylor's new 2008 fall line - Can you see your wife/girlfriend in one of these? Lol. I'm not liking this 2008 look at all. What is with the bra top and the black tights? I'm not sure what kind of statement she's trying to make with these clothes.

lol.

Gughh.

what is this?

I've always wondered why fashion designers like girls who are stick thin with flat chests. I don't get it.

A couple of pieces from Tommy Hilfiger's 2008 collection:

Do you like?

I kind of like this coat! Wait a sec, is it a dress? hm, not sure.

I like this jacket. It has a nice cut. Not sure if I would ever wear white pants myself. But not a bad look.

lol, not sure about this look. I do like big collars though!

Definitely not. Well maybe the hard hat.

I like what George Clooney wears but I don't think it's exactly the cutting edge of fashion. Just a black suit, even I have one of those ... I bet his cost much, much more than mine.

Rebecca Taylor looks like she's going for haute couture and failing miserably. There's nothing remotely exciting, original or interesting about her line, and it's not good for the practical market, either.

runway models are tall and thin so the clothes drape nicely and don't bunch or bind anywhere. A more curvy model will always be hard to fit for at the last minute.

I usually don't like Hilfiger, but I like the dress in the 2nd pic and the jacket in the 4th. The rest of it - ugh.

I don't know but I like it. I guess it just reminds me of what indie rock type girls wear, and I'm a sucker for them. She needs some black frame glasses to be a goddess. And a comb for the hair.

I'm with you on this Diddy. This kind of hat looks a little pretentious or dated, one or the other.

(My apologies to anyone who sports one of these hats What do I know about fashion? I'm just a judgmental goof who dresses poorly.)

I've always wanted to be a "hat" guy. My problem is I look horrible in any hat, and I've tried them all. The only one that looks okay is your standard baseball cap.

If you show cleavage, I think the eye should have a fairly short walk to the goodies. When they have to go through most of your torso to get there, it starts to become obvious that there is sagging going on even before you've seen the delights in question. I'm not at all a fan of neckboobs and push-up bras, but I think as you age it's time to get realistic about how low you want your neckine to go. Your gaze should plunge into the cleavage like you've fallen into a trapdoor, not go in search of it like you're following a trail of breadcrumbs back home.
It's this very display of vulgar sexism that leads to women like this.

And the fact that has-beens like Vince Neil and Sabastian Bach actually marry and copulate with these Frankenwives makes it totally worth it. Keep up the good work!

I really don't think that closeup pic of Michael Jackson has any place in this fashion thread. It makes me sick to look at it

I think it's both dated and pretentious.

I feel bad about missing the MJ pic, but those other two girls remind me of this one Russian chick on Rock of Love that looks like she is made out of plastic. I would post a picture but your face would melt. This is her, don't say I didn't warn you.

Katy I'm sorry for this chick in a real fashion thread.

I didn't find anything sexist about Blarg's post at all. Unless it's suddenly sexist to point out a buxom beauty's bust will naturally sag some as she gets older. Which it's not.

I hate to break it to you but Sophia Loren is NOT really beautiful anymore, no matter often People Magazine says so.

Thanks Dom. Why do so many women like taking cheap shots? And so few other women call them on it? It's tedious, demeaning, drags down the level of discussion, and is as predictable as clockwork. Well at least now that I'm even being blamed for acknowledging gravity, I've been clued in to the fact that the laws of physics were vulgar or sexist. Political too probably right? Part of the patriarchal conspiracy? FWIW I've never claimed to be a fan of huge fake boobs or people getting so much surgery they start getting called cat people. Quite a load, and I mean that in both senses of that word, to be laying on my shoulders. It also seems fundamentally flawed to be laying the blame for whatever a woman decides to do with her looks always on someone else's shoulders. That an attempt was made to lay any of the blame on me for whatever those women do to themselves is ridiculous. What's really weird is that comments like the one I'm responding to are in a thread about, of all things, fashion, which is specifically about how things look. Pretty bizarre place to say that talking about looks is out of place, much less vulgar or sexist. I think I've largely given up on the idea that forums chase women away. They just largely find themselves getting called on sh*t they get away with too easily elsewhere, and take off running. btw it is no longer possible for me to divide text into paragraphs. This software is weird!

well said....and I agree completely. There was nothing inherently sexist about your remarks at all. Especially in a thread about fashion!

the way some women tend to skew things through a distorted prism always amazes me. It's like the other day, I was talking to my friend Angela who has been having problems with her boyfriend. She kept saying how he's immature and shallow and is scared of commitment. Well, I know her boyfriend and he is none of those things, so I asked her, "what makes you think he's scared of commitment?"

"Because he won't commit to me!" LDO, right?

I replied, "Have you ever thought that maybe he's perfectly fine with commitment but he's just not interested in committing to you?"

Exactly like the scene in When Harry Met Sally when Sally realizes her ex, who just got married, wasn't afraid of commitment at all - he just didn't want to marry her.

Yeah, I believe in tough love. The realization that spread across her face was amazing. It was like a light went on in her head that had never previously been lit. And she didn't like it.

Of course, she immediately rejected that idea out of hand.
