Ginnifer Goodwin has a face and haircut like a boy, so she needs to work extra hard on things like posture. The way she's holding her head makes it look like she would probably walk like a duck with her elbows out, knees bobbling, and chin forward like a guy walkin' down to the crackerbarrel for a chew. Posture is critical to bringing off any outfit, and if she doesn't get working on that extra hard, it won't matter what dress she's wearing. Especially with that boy face and haircut, she's going to have to work extra hard to put a little feminity in her carriage. Right now it looks like she's dressed to go galumphing.

Patricia Arquette looks short and stumpy in that dress. Boob muffin top was an apt description too.

Can't see the Klum dress.

Nice to see Christina Applegate looking so healthy and fresh after her cancer and boob removal. I knew a guy who used to work in a restaurant she owned and he said she was constantly trashed and partying her body into oblivion, so I suppose it's not a surprise that bad things can happen to a trashed body. Judging from her face in the Ron Burgundy Story, she did age prematurely on the outside as well as in. But still, she's an exceptionally beautiful woman, and it would have been a shame to see her looking grey-skinned and reptilian before she hit 40. Nice to see she looks good here.

Mila Kunis's dress has good color but somehow reminds me a little of a furry toilet cover. The more I look at it, the more obvious the contrast in textures between the flowy stuff and the stiff bodice becomes, and the textures don't make good companions in my mind. Its color being so perfect for her hair and eyes and shoes makes it easy to declare the outfit an overall success, though.

Jennifer Love Hewitt's dress makes it look like there is no end to her hips. How far out past her elbows do they project? I think this might be the girl as much as the dress, but maybe that's one of the problems of a designer -- how do you design a dress to perfectly fit a girl whose weight tends to yo-yo? The voluminousness of the hips is unfortunately heightened by the strict sequestering of her boobs. You need tight up top and tight down below, or loose loose. Or maybe even loose tight, if you've got one of those odd bodies that is slim hipped but full busted. But tight loose makes you look like an upside down turnip.

I'm curious about the part that I bolded: what do you mean by "she has a face like a boy"? I can see the haircut part but I don't really understand the face part.

You're quite good at fashion critiques, Blarg.

Strange, but now I can see the Klum pic but not the first Goodwin pic, which I wanted to do so I could be more specific. At any rate, her face there looked more boyish than feminine to me, and the way she carried her head and back was an unfortunate reinforcement of that. In the first pic she looked like any number of 9 to 16 year boys I grew up with.

would kind of like the Sedgewick dress if someone did a walk-by yank.

also, goodwin's hair really makes her less attractive.

Quick question: why not take the loaves of bread out of your pockets prior to the photo?

This photo is a great example of why I hate "fashion" so much.

Look, you're already "empowered." What you wear will not "empower" you. I'm sure "pregnant supermodels everywhere" really appreciate your bold selection, but I do not.

I understand there is an aspect of "look at me" intrinsic to this topic, but if you're going to partake, I'd say it's necessary to not look like a total imbecile doing so. Heidi Klum looks moronic wearing that dress. It's gross, to be honest, and the obvious "statement" aspect of it is even more off-putting.

Jenna Fischer looks weird to me, sort of harsh in the face lately. Yeah, the dress is fine, but she doesn't really look like herself to me.

Whatever Kyra Sedgewick was wearing looked more like cake piping or my dead grandma's heart shaped candy box than anything else.

I thought Mila Kunis looked marvelous. Perfect selection.

Sarah Silverman has strikingly wide shoulders but a narrow face. The narrow face helps her look cute and girlish beyond her years for it, which is great, but the contrast between her head and frame exaggerates both. That thick dress makes the rest of her body look too boxy, accentuating the lack of harmony of her lines. She should wear things that minimize the difference.

I've seen her use the naked shoulders look before, and it's not a good one for her. Perhaps she should consult a designer who understands working with body proportions better, and then apply that understanding with every designer she employs. This is the way they supposedly used to do it in the old days, anyway. Many stars in Hollywood's Golden Age became associated with a very particular look, be it cut, pattern, number of pieces, or material, not just out of random delight in it but because it was the one best for their proportions. Sarah is being ill-served here.

Love that pic of Holly Hunter, Katy. She has aged well. I always thought of her as the best possible version of Jodie Foster.

Ginnifer Goodwin is beautiful, but I liked her better with more meat on her bones.

I don't get this. I really don't get an "empowerment" vibe from Klum's dress - she's wearing a dress that is quite understated actually (it's not like it's a t-shirt with her belly handing out of her shirt and pants). She's just not wearing the typical "oh-hide-me-because-I-have-a-big-belly-because-I'm-pregnant" dress.

To me, she looks beautiful...she isn't even half as big as I've seen other pregnant celebrities who wear much more risque wear while pregnant (think a tight dress WITH cleavage).

But, to each their own.

Eh, I'm just cranky. I'm in Jamaica and got a sunburn yesterday, and I'm hung over.

It's just that I do think she looks goofy as hell, and that she is making some sort of statement with a tight dress in such a condition.

And I guess I will always find fault with everyone needing to make a statement all the time.

You're probably right. I bet it's just me.

I have to go get some Motrin and a Red Stripe.

Lol Rushmore. Sounds like you're having a fun time in Jamaica. Red Stripe, oh man.

It's OK if you disagree with me - katy doesn't like her in that dress either.

Seriously? Her dress looks too reminiscent of the tube topped and spandexed walmarters to me. Klum is very much showing off. Every inch of her is visible to the point that it's pretty much paraded. There's nothing close to modest or laid back about this dress. This lady is getting her freak on. There's a difference between not hiding and this strobe light of an outfit.

Something like this worn by Halle Berry and Salma Hayek when they were pregnant is much more tasteless to me than what Klum is wearing...

maybe she trying to join the red hat society with the red and purple? I'm just glad to know that bad clothes can make even gorgeous people look bad (ok so not actually bad, just like she has a bit of a belly)

Wow, that dress gives her such a weird shape, it makes her torso look like a blue vagina
