Not celebrities you think are particularly talented, although they can be, just those celebrities - in any field - you really like. The ones that, through their talk show appearances, interviews, whatever, just strike you as cool.

For example, I think Robert DeNiro is incredibly talented and he's one of my favorite actors; however, every time I see him make a non-acting appearance he looks incredibly ill-at-ease and not at all like someone I would enjoy meeting or hanging out with. Sean Penn also doesn't seem like someone I'd like to meet, even though I admire his work.

Of course, this is all speculation - which is the fun part!

For me:

Gwyneth Paltrow - she always seems like such fun, with a great sense of humor and a healthy dose of self-deprecation. I also have a crush on her, but that's beside the point!

Adam Levine - Just based on his appearances on The Voice, he seems like a cool dude and fun guy to hang with. I don't even particularly like his music, either.

Geoffrey Rush - He'd be a great guy to go to the pub with and have a beer, you, know? He'd always be there with an entertaining story.

Charles Barkley - this guy just seems like a blast. Drinking, poker, golf, whatever. He'd be down for anything.

Adele - Incredibly likeable, funny, sassy and just charming - and I'm just the same. Plus we're both from London, and London boys have a thing for London girls...and vice versa. Though this is just friends though, of course.

Martin Scorsese strikes me as the kind of guy who would get along with and educate anyone willing to listen. In all interviews I've watched he seems incredibly down to Earth. That's one celebrity I'd love to shoot the **** with.

Paltrow, Levine, and Barkley are all terrible people that I wouldn't even say "Hi" to.

I know what you mean about DeNiro though. I think he's kind of awkward when he's not acting. Harrison Ford is like that, too. He's got such a big on-screen persona but listening to him do an interview is snooze city. Completely non-interesting in every way.

No idea who I would "be pals" with, though.

Thinking more sports stars. David Wright seems like a good guy. And he's single pulling down a ton of trim. That has to be good for some stragglers.

Jesse Eisenberg, Anton Yelchin, and Joe Rogqn are guys from their body of work that I think would be cool to hang with.

Gary Busey would be great as well, just by being around him their must be some classic adventures.

Bill Murray, Johnny Depp, Sean Penn, Steve Martin, Seth Rogen and Robert Downey Jr are the 1st few people I could think of.

I'd love to hang out with each of them for a while just to hear some of the stories they could tell.

Seriously, what have you read? I'm not a gossip hound, but I remember an interview around Shallow Hal where she said she'd never date an "ugly" guy because it hurt her self-esteem before when she did...

and a recent one where she said the greatest compliment she ever received is when flight attendants remark on how unexpectedly non-bratty her kids her (her kids are named Apple and Moses, btw)

These two, yes. Especially Stewart. I listened to Anna Kendrick on a podcast recently, and she is truly the sweetheart you apparently think Gwyneth is. She's a legit cinephile and when the interviewer (wanna say Chris Hardwick) tried to praise how media-accessible we are these days, she said said something like "I tried to get Rome, Open City on iTunes and they didn't have it." That's a girl you hang with.

Scorsese at the time he was living with Robbie Robertson on Mulholland Drive, when they boarded the windows, did tons of blow, had Barbara Hershey and her friends over, and watched movies all day and night....good answer there.

That's what I like about her! So incongruous.

i think i'd like to get wasted with Jim Jefferies.

A buddy of mine met Gwyneth and Chris Martin in Mexico and actually ended up spending new years with them. Said they were super down to earth and friendly. Put them on the phone just after and they wished happy new year to some other of our friends back home.

Johnny Depp seems like a cool, down to earth dude. Also, Anthony Bourdain and George Carlin(do they have to be living?) come to mind. I would have absolutely loved to have had a few with him. There will never be another. RIP.
