pretty sure i've posted this before but too lazy to look for it to quote
Belton Sutherland is a blues treasure
if there was no Alan Lomax, and nobody else documented what he did, our knowledge and experience of the history of the people's music in the country we live in would be a fraction of what it is today.
One thing I like about Gary Moore is that he's not afraid to be himself. Listening to him, he could just as easily be a country singer or a pop singer as well as a blues singer. He doesn't get hung up thinking he's supposed to sound a certain way. It's all about the notes.
when i was in college (early 90s) i decided to eat nothing but rice for two days so that i could afford to buy this cd at the local specialty blues and jazz shop. still don't regret it
Otis Spann with (Peter Green's) Fleetwood Mac: The Biggest Thing Since Colossus
I didn't know this guy - got a recommend from YT - glad I listened - - he's got Willie Dixon on bass - it got just under 5 million views - I'm pretty shocked that I didn't know him - I've been into blues for a long time
