Yeah Eric Burdon should have gone in the first round iyam.

And with some of the unusual picks, I was expecting Yoko Ono to get picked.

I was sorta trying to do categories. She was my pick for most annoying female voice singing. Some other categories I considered:

Most annoying male singer: Tiny Tim
Most annoying male speaking : Gilbert Gottfried
Most annoying female speaking: Fran Dresher

There are just too many great singers and too many great songs and bands that make averageish singers sound great to just list off 15 singers with music you like. Some bands had a very dominant voice, some were pure harmony and some a variety of leads. It pretty much comes down to the music you personally enjoy listening to.

So, to you, best voice includes most annoying voice?

"Best" was a late addition. The initial interest thread was "voice draft", no mention of Best. Annoying voices are memorable voices, therefore draftworthy voices. You will also note I didn't pick any of them Gottfried has made millions with his whiny annoying voice and you gotta give him credit for that. He found a gimmick and made a successful career out of it.

The trumpet of Miles Davis (or Harry James or Louis Armstrong) had a distinctive voice, just as the sax of John Coltrane, or Sonny Rollins, had a voice of its own. Distinctive/unique voice would be the rabbit hole to send the draft off into untrammeled, but justifiable, territory.

I'm not terribly familiar with Simply Red, but did he own the voice that I always thought was Carly Simon?

My thoughts?

- I ****ing hate Simply Red

- James Mason had the best speaking voice

- Elizabeth Fraser had the best 80s female voice

- Van Morrison should have made it higher than Mrbaseball's reserve list

Really? Wow. Ok. (About Simply Red.)

When you posted Eric Burden and earlier yesterday when I was listening to him as an Animal, I thought - he might actually be "better" than Van. And I'm a VM fan. (Old enough to remember him with Them.)

No one took Pavarotti ?

Julia Child would probably be my round 5 pick.

How did a few sportscasters get picked, while nobody grabbed Cosell?

I thought about both Cosell and Harry Carey but decided to follow the herd and pick more singers. There really weren't as many speaking voices taken as I thought there would (I took 3).
