Okay, the rules are there are no rules! You are simply picking the best voices - whatever that means to you. Singing, speaking, categories, whatever! However, you MUST include at least one sample of your pick - a youtube video or something of your pick for best voice. You must also must give us some explanation for your pick. Any picks without an accompanying sample will be void!

We will do ten rounds.

Here is the order:

MrBaseball
John Cole
SuperUberBob
PhatMack
Dominic
Zeno

Here is the Spreadsheet

Make sure you fill out your picks, and after you pick, let the next person know after you that it is his turn.

You get four hours before you are skipped. Once you come back to the draft, you can make-up any picks you have missed.

Other than that, Mrbaseball is on the clock!

Round one

Frankie Valli

I really like Frankie Valli. That strong falsetto is very recognizable and very tuneful. I have no idea on how to handicap this draft but this guy deserves to be picked.

The greatest voice of all time, and I love this short clip from another of his unfinished projects:

It's not, Dave, unfortunately. Welles's condensed version, slightly altered from the original:

"But the lovely aromas in that enchanted air did at last seem to dispel, for a moment, the cankerous thing in his soul. That glad, happy air, that winsome sky, did at last stroke and caress him; the step-mother world, so long cruel - forbidding - now threw affectionate arms round his stubborn neck, and did seem to joyously sob over him, as if over one, that however wilful and erring, she could yet find it in her heart to save and to bless. From beneath his slouched hat Ahab dropped a tear into the sea; nor did all the Pacific contain such wealth as that one wee drop."

He's worked with the WCW, WWF and WSOP. He has two dozen movie credits to his name.

But he is most known for combat sports. He's been doing his job for over 30 years and is most known for his famous catch phrase.

Ladies and gentlemen...

Spoiler:

Team SUB selects:

Michael Buffer

I don't remember seeing a boxing match on HBO or ESPN that did not include this legend. He's literally been introducing fights for my entire life.

Best public orator, in the American political tradition. A gasbag that would give even modern politicians a run for their money. This pick should come as a surprise to absolutely nobody.

And notice what I've done here. I have picked Foghorn Leghorn, not Mel Blanc. I could have picked Mr. Blanc, but then the thread would have been over.

My pick in round 1:

The coolest SOB who has ever graced a stage.

Tom Mother****ing Jones

He is know simply as...The Voice. And for good reason. No male singer has ever emanated such masculinity and sex appeal while astounding with his vocal talents. The ladies so adored him they threw their panties at him in appreciation. Hell, they still do that.

Because, yes, Tom is still on tour, performing for the masses.

If I ever needed someone to sing for my life, I'd pick Tom Jones.

Dom's picks:

TOM JONES

Ok - I say, I say, that Phat mack is too predictable and so is John Cole. But both picks are quality nonetheless.

For my first pick I can do no better than Howlin’ wolf (Chester Arthur Burnett; June 10, 1910 – January 10, 1976, known as Howlin' Wolf, was a Chicago blues singer, guitarist, and harmonica player, originally from Mississippi). I could easily say that this pick is actually two in one as the harmonic is also a voice in many of his songs but I will let this pass by - Thus; giving Phat Mack an opening for another harmonic player that was the ultimate voice on harmonica. Anyway, I am please to present one of the greatest blues voices ever;

Because I don't wish to be looked over this weekend for picks, nor overlooked; I will go ahead with my second pick. A woman with a great voice and the figure to back it up. Mae West.

Picks so far: Howlin' Wolf and Mae West

I will make my pick when I'm home from golf...if Phat Mac sees this and want me to skip me, go right ahead!

I love it when singers sing so that I can understand the words.

Greatest enunciation in an American singer, here singing the first song I ever flipped over: Ella Fitzgerald.

Here with Louis Armstrong.
