Would be good to have a thread to represent the various cultures across the globe.

I'll start with Russia:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=FPPm4y3s_58&feature=related - TATU is by far the most well known russian group. 2 girls with very catchy songs.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=YfwgPDxuhv4&feature=related- TATU again just in case

http://youtube.com/watch?v=okYaLPn9s3M- TATU 2007 version, breaking into the international scene with their second album I believe

http://youtube.com/watch?v=L59y0xodewg&feature=related - russian rap

http://youtube.com/watch?v=QN80OdT1ORM&feature=related - russian rap 2

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6-qbSDzJRck - russian pop

http://youtube.com/watch?v=s7a7kbfp_d0&feature=related - Zemfira is I guess a russian version of punk/rock.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=_cqTBl3Fvr4 - this is perhaps the most well known Russian singer. She's been around for decades and she does indeed have a wonderful voice, and years ago, stage presence

http://youtube.com/watch?v=XwKPOceitlQ - Valeri Meladze, a personal favorite of mine.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=-uCTyC1FGLw&feature=related - DDT is a russian veteran. I think a great representative of how a working man that loves music can be successful - without any fancy clothes, widgets or performance stunts. Unfortunately, horrendous sound quality, does take a lot away from the song

http://youtube.com/watch?v=bgb4NKozM_k - Filipp Kirkorov has unbelievable talent

I feel compelled to add that this small collection I show here doesn't do the amazing amount of quality and quantity of talent Russia puts out any justice. Unfortunately, very few Russian artists ever get worldwide recognition - but then they are mostly very patriotic and do not mind

That'll do for now, lol. Share your pride, wherever you may be from

Alla Pugacheva has a pretty hot daughter (Kristina Orbakaite)
A song of hers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZ4UBVAjuyI

Maksim Galkin is a really funny comedian/satirist/singer (also hosts the "Who wants to be a millionaire- Russian Version".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZdsK6LT20A - its funny but you wont laugh if you cant get the jokes

I also like how its in great russian tradition to have a man dress up as a woman on stage and be funny.

Ill share some Mexican rock music:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LIZUwA1wAE4 Caifanes a very popular band in Mexico
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fSJT5M...eature=related Mexican folk-song interpreted by Caifanes
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=E8RegmnD5hI Mana, a very popular mexican band.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zHYOd2xqC_A Las Flores by Cafe Tacuba. Cafe Tacuba is one of my favorite bands and they range into all sorts of genres in their music.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=yHQEkgayMq4&NR=1 one more by Cafe Tacuba, I recommend going through many of their songs on youtube.

More rock in Spanish:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=KpiY999wHTM Musica Ligera by Soda Estereo, if you are born in anywhere in Latin America you know this song by heart.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fPNX9BL5v1w Matador by Fabulosos Cadillacs
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mQM-H9mvgEc Fiesta Pagana by Mago de Oz, a popular Spanish band that incorporates Celtic music in their rock
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BCAht1...eature=related Molinos de Viento by Mago de Oz

Some Mexican classics (not rock, more like Sinatra in the US):
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pUyFej6zozg Juan Gabriel, Amor Eterno one of my faves
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jCr4fu-Dzls Jose Jose
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fkf8ly44Pjg Luis Miguel, none of his songs fail to work when with a girl.

A song writer I love is Miguel Bose, I'll put my favorite song here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fkf8ly44Pjg (there's a new version with Shakira, but I am not a big fan of that version).
