Spottswoode, I've really disliked everything I've tried from the Black Creek brewery. I dunno why, just none of it really agrees with me. Feel like a dick saying that since I "should" be supporting local etc..

Has anyone tried this? I keep wanting to pull the trigger but $13 is more than I'd usually spend on a bomber

I will never give Rogue another dollar. Aside from their beers being overpriced, mediocre, and inconsistent:

I wish the OP in the 2nd link hadn't been deleted. OP described working for Rogue in detail that included ridiculous practices and constant harassment.

goofball, I've tried that and I thought it was decent. If $13 is pricey for a bomber in local terms, then I wouldn't recommend it. I've had better chocolate stouts; the one you picture I'd only pay "average" price for.

Nice! This stuff is actually in most of our LCBO's (liquor store) but I've never tried it. I'm broadening my horizons at the moment so that's why I picked it up. I think I'll dig into it tonight and give it a chance.

Wow. Will never think of them the same again.

That job posting is so hilarious.

That seals the deal, but I've never been a fan of Rogue. Their beer is meh IMO, not bad but far from great, and it always pissed me off that they have such a wider distribution than much better breweries. I've been to several places in the Midwest and the East Coast that had a good selection but Rogue was the only Pacific NW beer available.

On another note, is $30 standard for Goose Island Juliet, Lolita etc.? Wanted to try them but that is steep.

Rogue makes what are (imo) some really good beers: dead guy, double dead guy, hazelnut brown nectar, and Shakespeare stout.

I found their basic (non-double) chocolate stout too sweet though.

I bought a bottle of Sofie for $15ish the other week, not sure if that is in the same price range as the ones you listed though

it's on the high side. Lolita is $20 for a 765 and Juliet was something like $22 for a 765 (why on earth they couldn't do it in a normal 750 or 22oz is far beyond me).

PTE,

Welcome! Here's my beer drinking from last night:

$5 for a 510ml(17.25oz), this beer is such a great deal. I had money left over for a steak!

Part of me doesn't want to drive 3 hours to Vermont just for beer but part of me thinks I should drive 3 hours to Vermont just for beer.

Beat: been to Burlington twice to visit a friend who used to go to UVM (years ago), not once was I made aware of any noteworthy beer, we drank bud the whole time.

I'll look for it elsewhere, then, I guess. Gillian, Halia, Juliet and Lolita were all $30 for the wine-bottle size, or I guess slightly larger as kdawg said. Didn't take a closer look once I saw the price.

Currently drinking Hops and Bolts - India Pale Lager at work to celebrate a promotion I just received. It's kinda strange but not totally unpalatable.
