I think I agree with this. The other series are still quite strong, but I think there's no way you'll like series 2+ if you don't like 1.

holy crap. this show never fails to surprise the hell out of me. That was one intense episode. Do you think the big reveal at the end will hold up or is it a misdirection?

And is Kara going to keep what she found a secret?

my interpretation of "Sometimes a Great Notion's" BIG REVEAL:

Spoiler:

1. On Earth, we see Tyrell, Anders and Kori admit they have memories of being there before, thousands of years ago.

2. We also see Dee pick up a pocket watch and some jacks from the sand and sort of go to pieces on the way back to Galactica. Something has shocked her greatly.

3. After a wonderful date with Lee, Dee inexplicably kills herself.

4. Later, Tigh also has a memory of being on Earth just as it's being destroyed - with his dead wife, Ellen! Apparently, Ellen in the Fifth and Final Cylon!

Holy Frak!

BG creator Ron Moore has stated that the Final Cylon is NOT in this promo picture for the last ten episodes:

He has also mentioned the Fifth will be revealed early - even in the first episode back. Which leads us to Ellen being the Fifth, right?

BUT WAIT JUST A DAMN MINUTE!

I think Dee is actually the Fifth. She kills herself not because she's depressed over Earth's condition like everyone else, she kills herself because SHE IS HAVING THE SAME MEMORY FLASHBACKS AS THE OTHER CYLONS the watch, the jacks) - and she realizes she is, in fact, a cylon.

That's why she falls to pieces on the ride back. That's why she has one, last "happy" time with Dee - she's a frackin' skin job.

Tigh thinking Ellen is a cylon is just a red herring. Dee will be back.

Count on it.

So I just watched the whole webisode series they released before the new season. It's very good, probably the best internet stuff they've done.

It takes place more or less during the same time as the new episode and features Gaeta and an 8. There are definitely some important plot points for the former's character, and by the end you'll have an inclination what's taken place will tie into the newer episodes.

The earlier link someone provided doesn't work for us in the US, so here ya go:

I highly recommend it.

Dominic:

Spoiler:
Hate to poke holes in your theory...Ok, I lie. I LUUURVE poking holes in your theory, but how could Dee come back? The Resurrection ship has been destroyed already so Cylons can't return anymore, right? I supposed another Dee could be hiding out on one of the other Colonial ships but we haven't seen that there are multiple copies of the final 5 though.

And I'm incredibly surprised that you've given up that Starbuck is the fifth Cylon so easily. I was fully prepared to eat crow and start making my conciliatory sign....doesn't the fact that we've been shown that there are TWO Starbucks prove that she's the Fifth?

WHY, ADMIRAL, WHY COULDN'T IT HAVE BEEN YOU? WHY CAN'T I WIN ONE SIMPLE BET?

Spoiler:
Misdirection...unless they're going to do something like say - oh, they're ALL really Cylons so essentially Ellen is one, Starbuck is one, Dee is one, the Admiral is one...in which case I clearly WIN the bet.

ok, they hooked me again.
just finished watching the last 2 episodes of last year, and the premiere.

my theory is that every 2000 years they trade off nuking planets. build a civilization, human/cylon split, nuke. trek, build civilizatioin, human/cylon war, nuke. ad infinitum.

I can see this.

And Hobby....the fact they've found evidence of a cylon planet no one knew about (Earth) could certainly lead one to speculate they have a still-working "Resurrection Hub" somewhere on that planet.

After re-watching it, I think it's safe to say that Dee is very clearly a cylon and falls apart because of it. Whether or not she is The One is just a guess....I think it's very possible Nut is rioght and they're ALL cylons....and Galactica itself is "The One." That's why in "Revelations," Diana Three makes a very clear point to target the rest of the fleet and NOT Galactica during their standoff - she knows who (or what) The One is.

And Starbuck is not The One...not only has Ron Moore stated no one in that promo photo is The Final Cylon, there's an empty seat at that table - look at the chalice. Starbuck is some kind of prophet, God, whatever....

Unless Moore is ****ing with us, of course.

Wait...Cylons can't self-terminate, right?

Ellen has to be the Fifth...she's the only one that has died who could actually be resurrected since she was killed before they destroyed the Resurrection ship...unless Starbuck technically died before they nuked the Resurrection ship...this timeline is so confusing...

I now think the final Cylon is the baby Hera.

Why not? Every new reveal of cylon tends to be a different model....somehow more evolved....and again....what's to say there aren't more Ellens in the fleet or a resurrection "plant" on Earth? Also, remember that Six is pregnant by Tigh....what does THAT mean???

I think it's very possible Hera is The Final One, too. Although what's the difference between her and the Galen/Kally baby???

Because they basically ignore the Galen/Kally baby on the show and focus on Hera. Cuz she's cuter. There I said it - one baby is cuter than the other.
