Battlestar Galactica - Final Season Battlestar Galactica - Final Season

Has anyone seen pictures of the new unmanned drone made by the UK?

It flies at supersonic speeds, can be operated by satellite link, and has an intercontinental range. It's called Taranis. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26052931

Don't know why, I thought this might fit this thread.

I love this series so much. I'm on my second watch and there's no drop off in enjoyment.

I loved the ending too. It is actually a +ev move to regress to an agricultural nomadic lifestyle if your civilization is that small and that prone to killing itself.

So say we all.

It was mostly decent but I don't find it very rewatchable and quit halfway through the first season when I tried a second pass.

That's too bad. It doesn't really get good till the end if season 2 IMO. And the first half if season 2 was terrible.

I could never decide if Starbuck was sexy or ugly. She was definitely my favorite character.

Starbuck was a goddess!

She's on a pretty good A&E show now called Longmire, but way underutilized.

Starbuck was also in the bionic woman, as a psycho bionic woman.

I thought it was pretty good. But I'm a pretty big sucker for anything sci-fi action so I could be a little bit biased.

It's decent. I thought Caprica had a lot of potential and was mega-pissed when SyFy canceled it.

So I'm watching season 4 right now. I don't remember if they ever explain it but how come those 5 are the ones that survived the holocaust blast back in old earth? Where are the other millions of cylons?

Everyone on that planet died. But the 5 of them had re-created the resurrection technology and had a ship in orbit, so when they died with everyone else, the 5 of them resurrected there.

If that was the case, why were their memories gone?

Cavill put in a memory block before tossing them into the 12 colonies.

I don't remember that part. Gotta pay attention.

um, bump!
so i watched season 1 several years ago, a couple months ago decided to revisit. Just finished yesterday.
Very good series, I don't think i'm quite as high on it as some (still nowhere near Wire or GoT), but thought it was really good.
I agree with what some other people said about show being at its peak end of 2/beginning of 3.
Season 4 was kind of all over the place. Didn't have a big issue with the ending. I did accidentally spoil myself that saul and ellen were cylons. I think i did that around the end of 3. So i may have lost some of the enjoyment of wondering who it was.
I didn't really like Starbuck and Apollo basically not being viper pilots for the 2nd half of 3 and all of 4. The viper vs raider scenes were always favorites in S1 & S2, and they lost a lot of that. I thought some of Adama's decision making was out of character in S4. I really like what they did with galactica. The Galactica "dying" arc really made the ship seem like a character.
probably won't see a sci-fi show this good for a while. I'll probably watch discovery, and expanse is still out there, but not expecting quite as much from them.

Definitely The Expanse has the possibility of supplanting BSG '04 as the gold standard in space-based sci-fi.

I just finished watching the finale, better Nate than lever! I was a fan of the original BSG when I was a wee lad and watched the mini-series, but then got behind when the series started and never got back to it until now for various reasons. Put me in the camp that was very satisfied with how it wrapped up. I get most of the criticism, but to me it stayed true to the characters and themes, and the unanswered questions are mostly best left unresolved. A+ show.

BTW, the entire series is streaming on Prime.

Katee Sackhoff , Starbuck, , not in the video clip above, continued on in great form in the totally non sci. fi. series, Longmire, which I loved as well. She still carried a weapon and fought the bad guys.
