Amazon now requires $35 minimum purchase for free ground shipping, up from $25. On the other hand, you can join Amazon Prime, which gives you "free" 2 day shipping for a yearly payment of $79.

I know everybody here reads several books a week and watches several high-class movies and tv shows. Do y'all think Prime is worth it? Of course it's convenient to just buy what you want when you want and never have to think about shipping cost. But maybe that's where they're screwing us.

I was a Prime member for 3 years and then let it lapse a few months ago. This new 35 thing has me wondering if I should go back to Prime. I really think I might. I love just seeing a book I want, clicking, and then getting it 3 days later.

So how do you'll feel about these Amazon issues? And how do y'all feel about those large muscular women R Crumb used to draw?

I don't think so. I always have enough in my cart that when I want something, I just hit the min and get free shipping. I love Amazon.

I pay it gladly, but I buy at least 2 things a week, often more.

Depends on how much you plan to use Amazon.

$80 a year flat for 2 day shipping... that is beginning to sound better all the time. and being that are here in NV, I would think they would give us a break.

sooner or later they will begin adding minimums and higher costs to prime.

Watch a few seasons of shows not available on Netflix (Justified, for example). Purchase a few things, and it's worth it. Of course, if you're a TV show pirate, then no, it's probably not worth it.

I didn't know Justified was available on Amazon Prime, that's interesting. I've only seen about half the first season so far.

I have it but I get a lot of stuff shipped so its worth it to me.

I use Netflix most of the time for streaming but Amazon has some good stuff also.

If you shop online frequently it's totally worth it. I easily used over $80 in free shipping the 1st month I had the membership. I will be re-newing in November.

you have to try and factor in the items that you would have gotten shipped for free anyway. that's where I had issues justifying it before.

Worth it? It's like $80/year and comes with free on demand videos. A Saturday night out costs more than a years worth of Amazon prime.

My particular peeve is that 2 day shipping isn't guaranteed and there isn't any recourse. Since I live in a remote area it is more accurately 2ish, maybe 3ish day shipping.

Yeah my area isn't even remote and it was always more like 3ish day.

I bought something the other day and was able to upgrade to overnight shipping for 3.99. That felt pretty cool to me, especially since I was already getting 25 bux off of the retail price for the product.

I'm a big fan of Prime, and it's a considerable difference that Prime gets free 2-day shipping vs. the 5-7 / 7-9 day / whatever length it is for $35. I've found that even when slightly more expensive than brick & mortar stores, it's worth it to not have to go shopping to pick up normal household stuff.

See, that's the thing. At least where I live, I get my stuff in 2-5 biz days via free shipping. Prime is not worth it to me.
