You're lucky. Sort of.

I don't know. It seems that I don't work fast enough for them, but I really put in all the effort I can. It's complicated, but it really comes down to me working with legacy software, being out of sync with others. I was working on this one project and it introduced a bug. Then I thought I fixed it, but there are apparently some cases where it doesn't work.

Since it's past 6 months, coworkers have the opportunity to review me. To say the least, the feedback has been brutal.... I don't really know what to say about it. Some of it, I agree with, but some of it was: really, that's what you think of me, anon?

It's not looking good for me, I guess. I just don't really know if everything that is "slow" is on me or if it's on the way things are done, etc. Everyone seems to like me as a person, but apparently, I'm a ****ty worker. No one's ever said that about me before, and I really don't know how to deal with this.

The spring has been gone from my gait awhile. I was a few hours late, but I got the day correct. The sun is shining today, so all is right with the world.

I guess since it is finally summer it's time for a road trip! Heading west first thing tomorrow morning. Myself and an old college suitemate are going to take a variant of a trip we talked about taking 45 years ago when we were in college. Of course back then it made no sense back then since we were broke ass college kids worried about the future.

The beauty of retirement is that it finally is the future! Life already happened and now we are only concerned with the present which is right now. Anyway it's just gonna be a quick week out to South Dakota and back. We plan to hike the Badlands and Black Hills and take in all of the touristy stuff. We are both avid hikers and photo bugs so it should be fun.

Sounds great, Mr. Baseball. Badlands are eeriely beautiful.

Badlands is a good, exciting name to be headed to for a hike. Adds real panache to the adventure. Enjoy!

Thankfully, I don't live my life down the last penny and have an okay-ish bank account. I tried to just work this one job without significant external incomes. I feel like that could have been a mistake. On the bright side, I at least know how to make money doing other things.

I sent a reply to the manager regarding the current situation, part mea culpa, part idk what I'm really supposed to do with all the variables. I don't know if it'll help.

Mornings have been cool in Vegas--in the 70s. I've been out walking around til noon. I've never seen it this cool in June.

First day without rain here in almost a week. And I have not a thing to do except pick up my daughter and family at Boston airport at 11:00 tonight.

Let's inject some youth in here.

Happy Summer, all. Enjoy!

finally got a deer with its fawn in my front yard. it dropped it today. it could barely stand up. she was still licking it off a little.

i planted lots of clover in my fruit tree orchard by the house just for the deer. they love it there. saves them just before winter and gives them that big pickup they need in the spring before other things turn green.

I drew this guy about 20 years ago. Couldn't find the share art thread so here you go. He's old and faded now, likely deceased in due time. This is the centerpiece of a larger work(about 16 x 30 or so) that includes some poetry that is too disgusting to share here. He doesn't have a name, or he forgot his name long ago. If he's still kicking around the desert somewhere, well then I guess good for him. I have no idea where he found such a large chopping block out in the desert, but it's there nevertheless. Nobody ever said art had to make sense.

Home for only the fifth day this month and deciding (well, thinking about deciding) how to spend the rest of the summer. Played golf once in California and looking forward to playing this week again. This will be the first time that Phil, Mike, and I have played without my friend Tim, who died last October. Tim and I always took on the other two; of course, they always paid for drinks because they always lost. I miss my friend, and I will miss drinking with him, usually until sunset, after playing. The other guys would quit after one drink. I might force them to stay for a second this week.

I'll golf and drink with you, bro

Also working in the "lab."

Stopped in at RI coffee shop the other morning. Listening to the folks there, I despair that any of these Democrats can beat Trump.
