Yes, I'm skipping over a lot of the "zomg undrafteds," and yes, this movie has a hooker with a heart of gold. But I don't care. I love this movie. To note, aside from one brutal scene, we really don't see Sera turning tricks; neither does Ben. We question what brought these two people to this stage of their lives, but we also see the contentness that they have. The chips didn't fall well for them, and maybe they did it to themselves, but they both have a contentness that is so rare. The film is difficult to watch, but it's captivating. It's two societal outcasts that unconditionally accept each other for who they are. The acting is superb. Nick Cage won an Oscar for his performance (yes, the same LOL Nick Cage from all the other crap he's done) and Elizabeth Shue was robbed imo. Also, I just love the music in the film. F the haters, yo.
