ATC, what's the plan here? When, where, what are your next tests schedule for?

I go in tomorrow @ 9am to Redwood City Kaiser to meet Dr Allen Efron. He studied at Stanford and looks pretty legit. Believe it or not RWC Kaiser has one of the best neurosurgery departments in the country...most of their staff are Stanford grads so I think I'll be in good hands. I'm not really sure what's going down tomorrow but I *believe* they will outline the plan of attack and give me a prognosis. I've been reading about brain tumors(a little too much, im gonna stop) and if it is in fact benign and isn't a product of more cancer in my body then I think I have a good chance at beating it. I've been pretty strong throughout this whole thing and I have a lot of hope, but as the days go on I think I'm getting closer and closer to a freak out.

I've done some digging & it seems that this Allen D. Effron, M.D. has not been to school in over 20 years, is follicly challenged, and instead of having mastered his craft already, he "practices." Wtf. Tempted to fax his "practice" in Oakland & threaten him with legal action if he funks up ATC any more than he already is.

ATC. how are you parents dealing with this? I would be outta my frickin mind.

Benign tumors have a certain shape and have well-defined borders whereas malignant ones are erratic in their shape and size. That's one of the things that concerned me when they told me it was benign, like how could they know, but my blood test came back perfect and the head of neurology at the hospital seemed pretty confident.

Also, Dr. Efron's specialty is the GammaKnife which is only really used on benign tumors. Another positive.



Mom's B.P. was 138/67 yesterday. Highest in her life =/ I don't like the way she looks at me.

Dad is just dad. I know it's bugging him but he would never show me. He was pretty freaked out after witnessing the seizure tho.
