So it looks like I am leaving on jUn 28th. That will be 2 days shy of 9 months that I have stayed in Saigon. The only question is when I will be back not if.

I just got back from the beach again and also went to Dalat which is in the mountains. It's fairly cool there at night and was nice to have some weather that reminded me of home. I figured I could find some different meats there to try. A cab driver brought us to this place that was already closed. Kinda like a guys house slash/restaraunt. Anyways they opened back up for us and brought out the beer. He took us in the house so we could pick out some food. In trashbags was a freshly hunted deer,wild boar, porcupine and some little animal that climbs and jumps from trees, no clue what it is called in English. Anyways the hill people hunt this stuff and bring it to the guy in the middle of the night and sell it to him. It's how they survive. They're afraid to come out in the day because I think selling the little treejumpers is illegal or something. Well we ordered it all and they skinned it and brought it out and we cooked it ourselves, rare of course. First time I've ever ate rare pork. Sorry no pics of that night.

So a friend of mine set up another pool game for me. we agreed to play 9 ball races to 9 for 20million vnd(or 1000usd) We posted the money for the first set. I won it and he said(well his wife said who speaks some english) that we could play again and if he loses he would have to go to the bank to get the money. My friend didn't like the idea but my read was these people were ok and had plenty so we agreed. I beat him another set and we headed to the bank. I actually rode in his car to the bank while my friend followed and my friends girl drove my motorbike. It was kinda weird riding with the dude after jus beating him for 2k but w/e they were real sweethearts.

Here is a pic of his car I took outside of the bank while I was waiting. Whatever a car normally cost, it's double here. so if this car is worth 70k then he payed 140k. Point is they had plenty.

Well it was the first time I ever had any snake I think. It wasn't that good really, but kinda cool. The snake blood w/alcohol was good and supposedly good for you.

As far as it being loose, The snake dude took care of that. I never got too too close as the thing sounded mean.

I guess it was mixed in the snakebood concotion. We forgot to tell him we wanted to eat the raw heart, maybe next time.

I'm 34 and from Boston. Game 3 of the finals is on 8am tomorrow morning my time. There is a bar open that has it on and I will be there bright and early having a bloody mary

Just wanted to say great thread, little jealous.
I've never heard of someone going over to Vietnam, would never even think of it being that we kinda had a major war with them not that long ago. I would be very concerned about getting killed rather quickly.

Well we fought along side the south where I am staying and most absolutely love Americans here and you get treated awesome. The thought of getting killed here or anywhere in Vietnam is kinda lol to me. If you ever make it out here you will understand why.

So I took some extasy last night. I thought it was fake but nope jus had to wait a while. It was actually alot of fun, I was wrecked. Now I'm paying the piper, man I used to bounce right back 10 yrs ago.I haven't done this in a while. The amount of sweat that is still leaving my body is almost hard to beleive. Can't beleive how powerful it was, I'm still tweaking and it's 7pm the next day. Haven't slept a wink.
