To address your examples: I am all for listening to ideas on how to fix immigration, how to make health care cheaper (but I won’t entertain “free healthcare” since there is no way for that to happen), how to give women an option to pay for reproductive health care and prevent people from being systematically disenfranchised.
You literally just said years from now people are going to cringe at how mean people like me were to people like you... pretty sure that’s claiming you are a victim right now of “meanness” from the left.
All of those solutions exist. And yes even Medicare for all is extremely possible. Even a right wing think tank has put out a study mistakenly showing it’s no more expensive than what the existing health system costs now and may be cheaper.
Republicans don’t want to fix them because again these things are features not bugs of the Republican platform. They want to funnel money to the rich and convince the unintelligent that trickle down exists even in the face of evidence showing corporations spent almost the entirety of their insane tax cuts on stock buybacks and not employees.
Republicans want trump to keep riling people up with lies about immigration to keep you scared so you don’t actually figure out immigration is greatly beneficial to the US economy and immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than natural born citizens.
Republicans are anti-choice because they “hate abortion” but they continue to crap on democratic policies like free birth control, sex education, and free/cheap healthcare all which make abortions fewer and safer. But that would relinquish control over women for the politicians and silly religious reasons. Colorado provides free birth control and lowered teen pregnancies by 40% and abortions by 35% over a five year period with a simple and easy solution.
These things aren’t the impossible fixes that the narrative the republicans want to push says they are. The conservatives just don’t want to fix them.
