Biden just claimed the reason there were so many more jobs in the last 3 months was because of his policies. I know a lot of people think he lost a lot of his mental capacity, but there is no way even at this stage in his life he thinks his policies of threatening to raise taxes on individuals & companies, paying people more money to not work (than they previous were if they didn't work) and trying to increase inflation and gas prices lead to more jobs than ending his party's previous policy of strong arming repubs into shutting down the economy everywhere they could.

I know a lot of people are going to beg for trump to take over because of what he did for the economy, the poor and the middle class after obama held the breaks on economic growth for his 8 years, but it is important for both parties to come together and make sure the dem party is still around for the long haul.

I don't want to confuse you too much so I will simplify this: putting a little bit of pressure on the breaks of a lambo when you are going down a big hill will have you traveling faster than pumping your bike pedals as hard as you can up a big hill on your one speed bike.

Everyone else, I am sorry for clog up this thread with such an obvious point, but I wanted to help out fidstar as best I could and I didn't think explaining how good of timing obama and even biden got into office in terms of an economy that was spring loaded and waiting for someone to pull the trigger. In obama's case all he had to do was changing mark to market accounting rules and all biden had to do was open the economy. While it took obama and even bush) a while to figure it out it looks like biden will figure things out a bit quicker, but still wants to jam spending down our throats even though I am sure his advisor have told him this is bad long-term for the economy, the poor and middle classes.

Sure, I mean the 3 years before Trump had basically the same economic growth than the three first years of Trump (so we avoid the pandemic and the "catch up" after the GFC and Trump).

Anyway, even if you want to argue growth was better under Trump (it was marginal), then you'd hope so with all the money he spent.

There is no excuse obama could give to justify trump having better or equal economic growth as obama once you account for the timing of when both of them got into office.

The percent of people in the world that could have kept economic growth as low as obama did during his term if they were president is very low.

We all better hope that for the next 4 years GOATrump is working on refining his speeches & etiquette. At this point I think there is a good chance we get 8 years of SHAQ/TRUMP after the expected 4 years of TRUMP/SHAQ. The people won't tolerate 4 more years of the party of "you didn't build that", "you can keep your doctor" and "if you make under 400k we won't raise your taxes".

So, can you explain why Trump's first 3 years were no better than Obama's last 3 years?
