No, that shouldn't surprise anyone.

Kanye is a nut case. That doesn't mean he is wrong about everything he says. It is kind of weird having a pop culture person saying something that can be labeled conservative.

To be fair, I mocked kanye years ago when he said "george bush doesn't care about black people." when I made a post that in it entirety said "obama doesn't care about white people." in a thread about obama starting a coalition to help African Americans. FUN FACT: I was given a racist ban for that post.

The entire post, and my only post in that thread, was “obama doesn’t care about white people.” The mod didn’t like me before the post and was searching for a way to ban me so that is what he came up with. There were zero accusations of me posting anything racist prior to that ban in any thread.

I'm not sure where you are getting the 3/4 of the crowd clapped. I think the number is closer to 3/15 and at least 1 of the 3 isn't even looking at him. I listened to that speech 5 times and still couldn't understand those last 3 words, but I assume you are right that is what he said.

It seems like a natural instinct that when someone is done speaking to clap for them no matter how poor they did - especially if others are clapping. (... this assumes they didn't catch the heil.)
