Ie) what is the root cause that's leading to these "preferences?"
People "prefer" things like "protector", but those are just preferences based on stereotypical and biased gender roles that people take without thinking.
This is not the same "preference" as say blondes vs brunette, because then height preference is indicating some bias towards how you feel male and female gender roles should be.
