Re: The question of the day thread

1. Rip corner flap enough to get index in.
2. Tear along short seam, perpendicular.

All other options are travesty

why would you ever rip the short edge, so inefficient

I write the date, time, agents name, and confirmation # for payment of bill on envelope. Then I put bill back in envelope to keep pages together and file. Ripping on the short side makes this neater.

Kindling.

Actually, I have had a few errors or issues where playing the "I called at 4:02 in May 17th and spoke with "Sandy" under confirmation number ########" STFU card has paid out rather well.

I check online for every expense and have found a few things like shady Amazon charges I didn't authorize. Not bank error, but a monthly $11 I might have missed otherwise.

Re: The question of the day thread

Diluted bleach. You can take care of 99% of common household cleaning with either that or diluted vinegar. Paying for expensive cleaning products is a fish move.

Re: The question of the day thread

I mostly agree with zikzak, but I often replace vinegar/water with Mr. Clean/Water in spray bottle because most people prefer the smell.

I also buy the single use disposal toilet wands and autoglass spray.
But I clean other people's bathrooms...not carrying around a toilet brush, and impossibly clean windows and mirrors, are a must.

Oh, and I use lavender bleach.

Re: The question of the day thread

I'm guessing citric acid would be just as effective a degreaser as vinegar. Dirt cheap and no odor.

I'll probably give that a try myself. Can't say I love the way the kitchen smells after I clean the vent hood with vinegar.

Re: The question of the day thread

Not sure on the price of citric acid, but I wait until Mr. Clean goes on sale and stock up

Iirc...last time it was $2 for 48oz. Ratio is something like 1oz/quart. Put in dollar store spray bottle.

Pennies/refill.
