Re: The question of the day thread

Weird. I was wondering the same thing the other day after another crappy night's sleep on my crappy memory foam mattress. tbh I probably just need to spend more than $199 on a mattress.

Pro-waterbed was watching your drunken date try to navigate it.

Con-waterbed was trying to actually have sex on it with said drunken date.

I thought about this in the last two weeks, too.

I had one when I was little, but I haven't heard of anyone owning one for at least 15 years.

Rogue waves and rip currents...many perils existed.
I knew a guy that actually had a mysterious "Loch Ness" type of creature that would surface occasionally. True story.

I was 5 when I got a waterbed. I'll admit that I've put on some weight since I was 5.

Lowest common denominator, right off the rip.

The critter had an 8 foot long neck and a head the size of an oil drum.
I guess it could have been a sex toy. A sex toy that ate the family dog that one time.

A lot of variance across the many applications and geography.
For a cold ham and cheese, Swiss is good. For hot ham and cheese, Jarlsberg.
Cheddar seems to have the most utility for quick dishes in the US (Mac and cheese, tacos, bologna sammiches).
For serious Mac and cheese, I substitute orzo for Mac and used a nice smoked Gouda for the cheese. Delish!
So, yeah, like Kristy said...it depends.

Re: The question of the day thread

Ok, here's my real answer:

Just to eat on a baguette: camembert
In veggie dishes: feta
In baked comfort foods: old, sharp, white cheddar
In sauces: Stilton
In sandwiches: havarti

Notable mention: gouda

Re: The question of the day thread

ok imagine it's your birthday, but huge, your biggest birthday ever, because it's your last birthday. you know you're gonna die soon, you don't know when, but it's grim AF rn. maybe you were diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer. maybe you're a soldier in iraq and the americans have encircled you and cut off your supply lines. or perhaps something else, but the point is that you know doom awaits you, and you want to squeeze every savory birthday cake bite out of life.

how would you describe your ideal cake?

You're right, far better to die amidst a bunch of crying relatives...

And since you're dying, and have no hope, it's really important to avoid STDs and or worry about your reputation.
