Cooked / fried such potatoes many times since being on my own, cause always forgot them in a bag
And those 'brown' bananas were often the only ones i couldve have as a kid. Like they would get returned from Hungarian border or even defrosting/ fermenting all the way from, Germany... So they were sold at... an affordable price, the one mother could pay anyway
Last time I have clear memories of doing so is 1994. Prolly sent a few in '95 and '96 tho.
Holly ****, letters. Now I'm feeling oddly nostalgic. Including weird bits of ephemera with the letter like bottle caps and twigs, for no damn good reason. Decorating the envelope with stickers. Crossing out words because paper doesn't have a god damn backspace key.
I mailed a homemade, emergency, ginger, uni brow and mustache with directions for use and a poem about them to my daughter while she was visiting family in Canada last summer.
I like sending kids mail whenever I can dream up an occasion to do so.
Boat launch pass. City of Mercer Island sells an annual permit for $40 ($11 to launch once!) They allow you to add your second vehicle, which just happens to be someone else's.
