I maintain that minimal techno is superior to progressive house/trance. Check out some Jeff Mills or Richie Hawtin or Ricardo Villalobos or Marco Carola etc. It won't make you feel quite so gay as the stuff you are listening to now.

to answer OP: check out the anjunadeep: 01 album. it's two cds (coughtorrentcough). anjunadeep is probably one of my fav labels ATM (not a big fan of their latest release though. as far as artists, most of the guys on that label extremely solid: jaytech, paul keeley, PROFF, komytea, and michael cassette (actually this group is another alias for the two guys who under for komytea). check them out on beatport.

if you guys like a good hybrid of trancy progressive house, check out the Electronic Galaxy channel on youtube. plug as i'm going to be guest mixing an episode for them under my Dishevel moniker. i think episode 12 of his is my fav.

and if you guys have interest (let me know), i've considering starting my own podcast which would be mostly prog house, but occassionally throwing in some techno, indie dance, and whatever else i feel like

meh, trance is such a sweet genre that even the ****ty commercial end isn't that bad. goes rapidly downhill when there are vocals involved though.
