I figured if anybody knew how to do this, it'd be you guys:

In Paint, how do I resize an image? I mean actually make the file size smaller? I'm trying to sell some crap on craigslist and the photos I've taken are all over 1MB big.

oh wait nm.

copy the picture and then open a new paint screen. before you paste it in make the white box smaller. then paste. then go up to the top where it says stretch/skew and enter in like 80%. if thats too big make it 70%. the pictures can become distorted if you do the resize too much so do it slowly.

Isnt the image smaller when you save it?

yes it is, I checked it!!!

But I don't know...at 100% it was 224 to disk but changing ot 50% made it 60 to disk...hmmm

Yea, when you save it it shows the smaller size to the disk.

fwiw, without resizing it, it usually drastically reduces the file size just by opening it in paint and resaving it as a jpg
