I don't think Edwards would have dropped out unless he had assurances from Obama that he'd be on the ticket. Starting with the last NH debate, he's lined himself up pretty squarely with Obama and against Clinton, and it's helped Obama a lot. I think Obama will recognize that. And Obama needs someone who inspires people like he (Obama) does. I'd bet on Edwards, but I could be wrong.
