he isn't being put to sleep yet.. not exactly sure when that will be. The pain medication has helped him a lot today, he slept for almost 6 hours. He has been waking me up every 2 hours to go outside. So at least we can both get a little sleep now if that keeps up.

I wanted to thank everyone for the condolences.

Re: life beat: my doggy

i live with my aunt and her doggy has tumors in his mouth and is getting very sick. he is really old. i think i was like 7 when we got him and i am 22 now so yea, old. but you can actually see the tumors on the side of his mouth. its so swelled up and big. you can tell he just seems to not care anymore. its not my dog and i usually dont get very attached to animals, but its kind of watching an old person go senile. hes helpless and i feel really, really bad worst thing is my aunt has a new puppy and the thing just got neutered so hes still bouncing off the walls and climbing on the older, sick dog and i want to jack it in its face because u can tell sick doggy is like get the eff away from me

i think it is great that bbv4l comes up this big for something like this.
usually we are immature and stupid (myself mostly) but when it really counts the real side of us comes out.

Damn stupid to get a new puppy when you have an old sick dog!

OP, very sorry to hear about your dog.

Bummer man, sorry to hear it. I think he deserves a nice steak dinner and a ***** in heat before he goes. 13 is a pretty good run.

Good luck, prodonkey's dog. This is really horrible news to get, but do what's best for the dog.

Nothing is sader then letting go of a great friend, and all dogs are. I do suggest you hold him and pet him and make him feel as safe as you can if they need to put him to sleep; it's horrible for you but worse for him and you'll feel better over the years having been with him.

Very sorry to hear that. Still, 13 years is a venerable age for a dog. Be thankful for the past years.

Also, if the dog really will have to be put to sleep, do not hesistate.

poor thing..my doggie had a weird ear infection all her life too..she suffered quite a bit, but not as much as urs..
she went blind later in her days because of the infection too..
i guess if it's cancer putting him to sleep is the best choice..poor thing
