Or even better, they'll drive from store to store from outside of the mall. I see this all the time. We're talking maybe a 500 foot distance, and they start their cars, drive 500 feet, and park in a new space as close to the store as possible.
Staying in shape doesn't take that much time, but it is hard work if you exercise intensely. People don't like pain so it's hard to get them going on a program like that. Signing up for a gym membership is easy: staying motivated is not.
I've never been married so I'm forced to keep myself looking good. But I had two roommates in college who got married about fifteen years ago, and they've both gained at least fifty pounds. Their motivation is gone.
