I just got a flu shot! I am early for a doctor's appointment and saw they offered flu shots so I got one to kill some time. Autism powers come!

Mid-thirties and I've never had a flu shot. Am I doing it wrong? Last time I had the flu was 4-5 years ago.

It is very important that you get your flu shot. Everybody shot get their flu shot. It irritates me that there are people who don't get flu shots. They should get flu shots.

I haven't had a flu shot in at least 25 years. I have had the flu (if it was the flu) maybe twice in those 25+ years. (I also haven't been to the doctor except for a yearly physical in all those years.)

My husband got a flu shot last Friday. He came down with the flu on Saturday.

If he got a flu shot Friday then achieved the actual flu the very next day that is some humorous irony.

It takes weeks for the body to build up the immunity provided by the flu shot. Poor hubby.

States with high levels of doctor visits due to flu-like symptoms doubled: CDC

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of states reporting high levels of doctor visits due to flu-like symptoms more than doubled in the last week, from 10 to 21.

Those 21 states experiencing high activity: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.

The South and West reported seeing the highest rates of patients with flu-related symptoms.
